How Bob F***ING Bradshaw stole my money!

in 96 i bought an isolation transformer from bob
went to his shop on magnolia
paid 60 bucks
got it 2 weeks later

zach waited a LONG time for his rack, to the point of dispair but he got an amazing system when all was said and done

like others have said he is the pioneer and builds ultimate rack rigs but no guarantee of getting stuff you pay for makes it super sketchy

And let's face it, ALL of the big guys have been accused of this sort of thing at some point in their careers. True or not, that's just the way it is. These aren't corporations. They're people, and people occasionally get in over their head when they themselves are the sole (or with very few helpers) proprieter of their product and said product explodes into high demand.

Can you imagine the fuckery that would have ensued if (lack of building knowledge aside) George Foreman made the grills himself... :scared:

My dad is a boutique knife maker, and has avoided going into a full-fledged business with it because he fears that very thing, that the demand will greatly outweigh his capacity to deliver. He already feels as though his work capacity is stretched at times doing it part-time.

Without defending Bob, i will say that very few people will do/can do what he does, therefore he probably doesn't have a shop full of 50 people working on pedal boards, rack gear and switching systems.

If you have $5 and Chuck Norris has $5 Chuck Norris has more money than you.

The guy is using the Scameron method of marketing and sales which works well with many local RT fanboys.

This is not a supply demand issue- that would explain a backlog of mOnths, not a prepaid 3 year wait.
I deal with an independent guy often, sometimes he flat out stops taking orders, he doesn't collect then dodge. Integrity vs Greed

Not that it is any excuse, and I don't even know if it's true - I have heard he is really ill.

Get Kyle Rhodes to build you something. The guy is an artist.

Oh, and who is Bob "Fishing" Bradshaw?

Oh yes... I waited a LONG time for my CAE rig (2 years), and it was worth every second, and every penny. Not excusing any unethical practices on anyone's part, but this example illustrates the reason why one should ALWAYS use a credit card, when making this kind of purchase.

fwiw, I have used the rig continuously over the past 3+ years, and it has worked flawlessly.

Sure there's a difference between a very small operation and a large one when it comes to potentially running into issues and setbacks, but one thing shouldn't matter regarding it being a single person or an army if the person took the money: the person who took the money to produce the product should either produce that product or return the money. It's up to those taking money for the product to take care of that money or avoid taking it if they don't have the means to cover for various situations that could crop up. I can understand someone potentially making some bad decisions such as taking money to produce a product and not having money to cover for something that could go wrong on maybe one or two then needing to take time to get those people's funds back (for example really becoming sick and being unable to work for a bit), but the main thing that should happen in such a situation is awesome communication at the least and at best making sure to have enough cash on hand prior to taking in someone else's cash to cover for such problems. But at least based on many posts I've read over time, I think that's the more rare type of circumstance and don't understand how anyone can get away with what some of these people have without facing jail time, let alone stay in business.

I and many others have nothing invested in these situations, but it's frustrating hearing about how many people have put a lot of money down or sent amps away and never received anything back. Besides that obviously being bad for those who lost money and gear as well as any time invested/lost on it, when an increasing amount of similar tales comes along it seems potentially bad for other small builders/service people who are legitimate and who need and can handle some of the business they might be losing out on.

Some of you already know about this, but I'm going to tell everyone about this, because I'm not letting this bastard get away with this. Also, people should think twice about giving this man even a cent!

• May 18th, 2011 I ordered a RST24 midicontroller from Custom Audio Electronics in Los Angeles, which is owned by Robert Bradshaw. On the same day, I payed a deposit of $300 via Paypal to Roberts Paypal-account (pubert@pacbell.net).

• June 16th, 2011 Robert told me that the unit was ready, and could be shipped. I opened up a digital credit card (E-card) and gave Robert the details, and he charged me $1,374. I had now payed $1674 for the unit.

• Immediately after this, Robert started giving excuses regarding why he couldn’t ship the unit, and a number of delays followed. Making contact with Robert was/is incredible difficult, he doesn’t respond to emails and disconnects his phone.

• December 13th, 2011 I had had enough. I cancelled my order and asked for a refund. Robert refused to give me a refund, stating that he simply didn’t have the money. He told me that he would give me the refund in January.

• February24th 2012 after I threatened with legal actions, Robert refunded $400 via Paypal and then told me he didn’t have any more. After that, he yet again stopped responding to emails and calls.

• March 20, 2012 I reported Robert Bradshaw to my bank (Swedbank) and filed a claim against him.

• April 2012, my father who was in LA during a trip, tried to visit Robert at CAE to ask where my money is. To no surprise, Robert didn't open the door, even though he was there.

To this day, Custom Audio Electronics and Robert Bradshaw still owes me $1274. Robert doesn't answer emails, or his phone.

So my warning to all of you, don't buy ANYTHING from this "man" (if you can call such a cowardly jerk for a man). He will rip you off and then treat you like a piece of crap. This is not the first time he has done this to somebody, and he will probably never stop.

Niklas Nilsson
Thanks man. I haven`t planned to buy anything there yet... but bookmarked his shop. Now this creature won`t twist me around ITS little finger.

And... Have you returned your money back?

Complete bullshit. I myself don't take kindly to bullshit and being ripped off. It's not the amount of money it is the principle of douchery. I would pay the man a visit. You'd be surprised on what can be achieved in person without bodily harm instead on nameless faceless Internet world.

Sounds like the douche gene runs rampant in the gear world. What is worse is fanboys defending douchery. There are two sides of every story so I can't confirm Bob is a douch but Mark Camero has been confirmed a 100 times.
