How can anyone seriously defend Cameron at this point?

Reading all of the numerous threads (on Rig-Talk and other forums) about people getting ripped off by Cameron on both the new amps and on mods, how can anyone seriously defend the company? There is no excuse, none whatsoever, for what Cameron has done.

Countless promises that amps are going to ship...and then nothing. Cameron spends big bucks (your money?) on a big booth at NAMM and takes even more orders, but still nothing. Cameron and his people get defensive on the forums when anyone dares to question their business practices, yet meaningful and honest communication is non-existant with the company.

I wanted a CCV-100 in the worst kind of way, and I was ready to pre-pay. After reading the months and months of rumors and complaints, I held off and figured I would order one when people started getting their amps and I felt safer about product availability. Now, after reading everyone's experiences, I would be a fool to ever send money to Cameron for anything.

I still wouldn't mind picking up a used CCV-100 if they ever hit the market, but consider that any used Cameron should be viewed as a non-warrantable item since Cameron doesn't deliver on promises and the odds of ever getting warranty service seem questionable based other people's experiences.

I hope that people can get their deposits and prepaid order money back. The entire situation is bad. Potential customers should be forewarned.

there's a devoted forum on here. I'd at least address some of the issues before I had to refund even more money.

How long before Cameron files bankruptcy and nobody can get a refund?

So what's your horse in this race? If your not buying, what are you doing but making those who have spent their money on downpayments or those waiting for amp mods feel worse?

I'm amazed that Cameron still has defenders and wanted to hear opinions on the matter. And hopefully constant discussion of the issue will keep potential new customers informed of the recent goings on.

For what it's worth, I've had years of personal experience with a 'company' that was little more than 2 guys busting their asses to hold it together. Ive been on both sides of this situation, and it's an absolute Bitch. as a customer, you have faith, assume everything is in order, and have expectations as 2 a promised turn around time, and after what seems a reasonable amount of time and understanding for delays, feel the RIGHT 2 wanna kick someones ass deep when the product doesnt arrive on time or as advertised. The other side of the equation is it's a total pain in the cock as a small business owner, makes you wanna throw in the towel every fkn hour of every day when your going thru 'growing pains' of expansion, ever increasing demands from impatient customers, and suppliers that will FK you in the Ass in an instant, for what ever reason they deem necessary, and they dont give a good damn. They dont have to, and your left holding your Bag, chin hanging out for promises on product you cant keep. I think Mark has an incredible product(s), and although he and Chris are doing everything in their power to make customers happy, it's impossible to fulfil every need in the course of a business day. Theres no question naturally anyone in business wants to create well being and customer satisfaction and i believe neither have forgotten how much it blows to wait for something youve paid for, (the suppliers that manufacuters are forced to deal with are fkn WONDERFUL for reminding you of that Daily....) But, things inevitably fall thru the cracks, and I think the biggest mistake they may have made is to promise a product in a certain amount of time, its human nature to want to make someone happy, especially within the fraternity of guitar players, keep your customer base satisified, and I'd personally rather push the delivery date back 6 fkn months if necessary and potentially lose the sale than to tell someone its on its way and spend that same time dodging bullets and creating excuses till its ready to ship. All I can say is its a son of a bitch when the end of your work day comes and you realize you still have another 8-10 hours to put in to keep up with the demand thats been placed upon you to keep everything moving. Bottom line is no one cares how fkn nuts it is. Everyone wants their amp yesterday. And thats impossible. I still dont understand why ANYONE would go into business for themselves, unless they had waaay too much money to start with. I dont defend the mistakes Mark and co. has made, after all, shit happens, but customers have to realize this is a nitch, a specialized product created by a fledgling company, and orders will be processed as soon as possible. Its a bitch when somebodys got all your money, but the end result makes it all worthwhile, IMHO.....
There ends my rant....

Not a defender.

I'm just amazed how people think that bad press like this is going to help a fledgling company with issues get product out to waiting customers quicker....

And there's a whole forum dedicated to Cameron amps that pretty much outlines the issues......

I think he just wants to start shit, he has another thread bashing Chinese Democracy too. Not that I'm defending Axl Rose, because he's a twat, but threads like this are just meant to stir the pot. A little childish?

Yes. (Answered my own question :D )

My thoughts exactly.

Well to be honest, CCV and CCM were the first amps in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG while that gave me really nasty GAS pains. I would LOVE TO order those in 2 months when I get back from vacation but I just can't because of the known issues. Not to say I don't have faith in Chris and Mark but I'll be one of the quiet ones who sit in my corner and wait for a few hundred people to get theirs before I consider ordering one. By now if I was in their shoes I'd be spending cash out my own pocket to deliver a few hundred amps to clear my name. Easier to say than actually do, I know, but I kinda feel bad about their bumpy start on what could be the 2 of the best amps out there. I hope they survive these bumps.

You running for the Asshole of the Year award? You should, you'd get my vote.

I'll defend Cameron

what alot of people don't realise is how bloody long it takes these things to make! he has to either handwire everything, taking 1-2 weeks or do PCB which is around an amp a day. add that on top of making the amplifier cabinets, doing previous mods and repairs and dealing with constant calls, marks got his hands VERY full!

Being that there's a 30 page thread on douchebag central and a dedicated Cameron forum, what's the point of this thread? What's your agenda Odin? What do you care if anyone defends Cameron.

And...........Hi Carl. We know you're drawn to these threads like a coachroach.
