How come nobody talks about the JVM series?

Too bad it's not a theory and gets proven time and time again by many people, including myself.

Here we go with the "User is never wrong it must be the amp" retorted garbage that keeps the same 3 overdrive circuits flying off the shelves 🤣🤣
I actually liked the JVM that I owned. And it's not a particularly difficult amp to dial in from my point of view. In fact, it's fairly simple (which is how it should be). Just about every high-gain amp enthusiast has played or owned a Marshall JVM at some point over the years. Many of these experienced players try most of the amps that hit the market. And many of these players seem to share the same very common complaints about this particular amp. If your point of view is that they're all just "doing it wrong", I might suggest that this theory lacks data and on it's face is...well...silly at best. Perhaps you could share these elusive settings that will set us all straight?

Ola always sounds like his studio, Rabea always sounds like his IRs, and I have no idea what the amp actually sounds like besides a basic idea of the gain level from the videos

Ola English sounds like he has the same post eq embedded into every video since 2012

Like how Rezamattress sounds the same upper fizzle in every amp he "demos".

Then there is the tone whores dude who has too much presence before adding the overkill of a boost to it and playing the same 6 riffs over & over again.

One thing about reviews online has revealed itself to be manipulated at best.

And, with the sponsors....
The youtubers like guitarjaun, ola, angler fish, they all are just making videos saying it's the greatest shit ever now because its free gear and or paid endorsement. The car salesman of the gear world 🎬💰

You'd think with it being one of the biggest amps of the biggest amp brand in the world it would be easy to find a simple "plug in, mic it up with an sm57" type recording, but apparently not

I like Ola. I don't really watch his videos, because i'm not obsessed with Pantera and double drop b fart noises, but at least Ola uses real mics instead the one youtuber Mesa Boogie OS 4x12 IR that literally everyone uses constantly

@DanTravis62 - Are there any specific riffs you want to hear?? I'm gonna do a video soon for my Satch JVM, and I'd like to try and do something you guys would be happy with.

No specific riffs, but open chords and power chords ringing out for long enough to hear everything would be awesome @Orvillain - thank you very much, appreciate the effort

Ahhh the XXX! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Man, i loved that amp. I think it was Shask back in the day that had one too. Someone on HC had one and it was 80s tone city.
XXX was a fine amp. The one that blew, took it back they handed me another. Kept that a bit then traded that in on the JSX which I liked better. This was during my Peavey days - I had gone from the OG 5150 > XXX > JSX. Crazy amp flipping from me back then with Engls, Framus, VHT's, Splawns etc... but it was always the Peaveys in my live rig.

It is actually easy to dial in. Start with everything at noon and work from there. My settings on my main JVM based on a clock, OD1 Orange > Res 3 > Pres 1 > Bass 1 > Mid 12 > Treb 1 > Gain 12. Pretty simple. My other JVM is dialed almost the same just a few variants due to tolerances. The trick for me with the JVM to get it to breath is the Res and Pres controls. For example on my other JVM the Res is back a smidge and the Pres is pushed more. But again this is just me, the way I play and hear things.

I cranked the gain at low volume playing but when I was playing live my gain was about 10 1/2. As for the Master Vol and Channel Vol, I run the channels high and the Masters low. I have always done that so when Santiago said basically the same thing as the Masters don't push the power section then I figured I knew the amp pretty well.

This pretty much works for me with all my guitars. Cab is a Bogner 2x12 with V30/Annis mix. My 4x12 is the same mix. Actually the GT75's sounds really good with the amp as well, in fact my main touring cab was loaded with them back in the day.

Yup...That's about how I set mine up as well. Really not that mysterious regarding how to make the JVM sound good.
