Been to France. Both grandfathers were there also. Except for Paris all the French I met were great. Only ran into a few smart ass frenchies in Paris. Of course that was in the 80’s so…. I just think that the issue is your arrogance in Paris…(not your arrogance-I mean general arrogance of people who consider themselves elites…eg coastal elites versus flyover states as an example…)similar to say New York or Los Angeles. You know that being gay isn’t a huge deal in Europe. Still, in America it is grounds for being beaten to death in some places.

I can take you to a place not far from here you would definitely be uncomfortable in. Even in broad daylight. I worked in north St. Louis city up until a couple years ago, for 9 years. I’ve been shot at 3 or 4 times, shot over countless times and had two of my best friends and co-workers murdered on my job.
It’s not about being scared. It’s about being fully aware and as prepared as possible.

FWIW, I'm indifferent. I'm watching Western civilization self-destruct and just point out the stupidity; my goal is to minimize the impact of this stupidity on my life and future.
Since you either don't read some of my posts (at least you're not a stalker) or have reading and listening comprehension challenges, I'll summarize it for you, even though I've posted about this several times here:
I'm on track to retire early in the next 1-2 years unless our ruling parasites give us a prolonged recession.
I'm exploring and considering two retirement lifestyle options: getting a blue water sailboat to liveaboard and sail in the Caribbean part of each year; and traveling and visiting a few countries, living in each for awhile before deciding which I like best and getting a second passport / citizenship by investment; maybe both if the markets do better than my monte carlo simulations.
I have travelled to several countries in Asia for work and vacation, and considering my second passport options in Asia; but many Caribbean countries are second passport options too, and are perfect for the liveaboard sailboat life. If all goes well, I'll visit countries in Asia and the Caribbean before deciding which one I like best.
That said, sailing requires physical strength and stamina which many of us lose as we get older, so I may only have around 10 years of active sailing time, maybe 15 if my health is good. I see many boats for sail due to the declining health of the owners.
Either way, I plan to enjoy the decline no matter what happens or doesn't happen in the US.
Enjoy the decline; especially if you're actively supporting it. Your results are going to surprise you, and they won't be anything like you hoped or imagined. History is full of such failures.
