How does a James Tyler Studio Elite HD-P handle high gain? Ran it into an Engl Savage 120 with midboost preamp on and off to find out

I almost pulled the trigger on a Tyler a couple times. But all the clips I have heard dont sound great to me with high gain. Amazing for cleans and funk type stuff though. High gain always seems to sound overly thin and bright.

That’s a good idea, maybe I just freeze to death in that compartment and stop the struggle ?

China will be like $700, and $1100+ for Japan. And after what I read about china, I wouldn’t even want to go close to it on a low budget trip ?

I wouldn’t say Japan has cooler stuff. Nowhere in the world has as rich of a guitar selection as US.

Throwing more than two monthly wages on tickets alone sounds like a good idea for last thing to do before I die from starving afterwards ???

i fully support this plan dude. and yes japan definitely has better guitars than the US.

They have all the stuff we have in the US plus all the lawsuit stuff that we cannot get (easily)

If funeral is on you, I can consider that idea ?

From lawsuit stuff I am only interested in ESP Explorers, but they aint that easy to find. Plus if I had the money, I have a friend with japanese citizenship to order that stuff through him.

yea good luck finding those lawsuit explorers. mine are about to go up for sale but i dont think you'll like the price lololol

and ESP is no longer making them AT ALL. even if you have a japanese passport.

What would the asking price be? 10k? You want a kidney? Or two? Not necessarily mine, but offer stands!

Probably two of the nicest guitars i've owned, but i'm just getting out of the music gear business. i'm keeping my first guitar that my parents bought me and a handful of amps. Liquidating everything else, i just don't need it. These are just nice to have things :2thumbsup:

Asking price will be higher than $10k...i don't need a kidney, mine are good to go lololol

no i'm not a dealer, its just a metaphor...just meant that i'm selling just about all of my gear and just keeping the absolute necesarry stuff.

my first guitar was a korean made ltd lol...and no i won't miss the nice guitars. music sounds the same on my korean ltd as it does on the nice guitars lol.

holding on to an original run BE-100 and a Mark V. All the others are up for sale in classifieds.

yea set to private by design bud, not sure what issue that causes...

i dont think they play any better than a cheap guitar that has been setup professionally. i know firsthand you can find cheap guitars that sound better than some 6 figure guitars. reliability not an issue either. thats just my opinion though.

think of all the working/touring musicians out there. they are not using 5/6 figure guitars/amps. just my opinion thats all.

Oh the only issue is that I’ll have to manually search your threads in Classifieds to learn of your amp collection, that’s it.

By the way, what set of EMGs did your MXs come with?

A lot of musicians I see have quite nice instruments too. So I thinks it depends.

if you go to the classifieds its like the 2nd FS thread (title includes wizard, slo, cameron etc)

MX's came stock with EMG 81s in both positions. I'm sure plenty do, but most do not in my experience. either way, i've tried and played everything i ever wanted to play and it doesn't do anything for me to have fancy guitars. i'm happy with my cheapo stash lol
