That’s what happened with me. They gave me the mega high dose but they kept refilling it. I didn’t know. They said I was vitamin D deficient. I have no idea how long I took that high dose but it was a long time….

My doctor told me to take one a day for 30 days, then refill it one time and take those once a week for the next 30 weeks. I go back in March and he is supposed to do a blood test to see where it is then.

What's the dose?

What's the dose?

It's 50,000 IU, which bogles my mind because the regular supplement I take is like 1,000 IU and it's supposed to be 125% of daily. The 50,000 is like 65X the daily need. I will say, and I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but after I started taking it, the most/quickest improvements came within the first few weeks. Make me think that maybe this Vitamin D deficiency had something to do with what happened to me.

Yeah, the majority of people in NA are deficient. And the RDA has been widely criticized. That is a high dose but doesn't sound abnormal for re-upping levels under doc's supervision. You will get the bloodwork and can check levels yourself to verify they are within range, but even those ranges are criticized by folks that promote vitamin D. And I doubt your doc will want you above the high side of the standard range.

Same happened to a good friend of mine. Also a guitarist. He made a great recovery with time, effort, and the same positive attitude you seem to have. I hope your recovery is swift, and you don’t have any more issues in the future. None of us know when that last breath comes, and life is short. We should all make the most of it. Good luck to you!

I've found 6->7000IU of D3 and 100->150mg of K2 daily to be the sweet spot for addressing issues without going OTT.

Just 'cause the stuff's so non-toxic that you can theoretically take 1000 000 IU a day doesn't mean more is necessarily-better.

IMHO.

glad to hear you are moving in the right direction @War_in_D. Sucks to read what they are doing to you, but at least you are improving.

Most of all fragrances are terrible chemicals. The only fragrances that are not toxic are fragrances made with essential oils.

Ever look at the ingredients of Fabreeze?
what about the wax cubes, are those toxic as well? I use Fabreeze to protect the car I store over the winter. Mice and insects won't go near it.

Don't know about wax cubes but I think the mouse thing should be telling you something.
