Ive always had that same experiance with my original greenback loaded cab. It's like they hold back the sound but I dig that!! it's like they are going to explode lol :D
Thats why you need a WALL of them!

For small rooms and stages its a plus for me to not have the sound throw so far. Most of our stages are not very deep but pretty wide.[/quote]

I'm definitely on this bandwagon. I like the reissues, but they don't sound quite like the recordings that I hear of the pre rolas...a little sterile. The reissues have their own sound and it's good too.

I agree 100%. Not a bad speaker at all but they don't sound like the originals.
hell even some of the originals don't sound like the original :D

When I think pre rola green back tone, it's more vocal sounding, more thick mids and the sizzle not as buzzy.

Same here. they have a very vocal vowel like sound with creamy mids and a rasp or grit on th etop end but not in a fuzzy buzzy way. also, for lack of a better description they can also have a musky sound to them when you use a high gain amp through them lol :D (think Ronnie letekro)

VH II

Unless someone buys me a quad I wont be using them anytime soon.

Im happy with my Reissues though. I think they pair better with my Superbass than my G12h30's did. But g12h30's and GB RI are my favorite speakers so far.

Although Ive played out of a few original Marshall cabs with pre-rolas that were, for lack of a better term, magical.

Clay Finley has some VERY nice original cabs too. With an old JMP, and a straight cab sitting directly on the floor, you get the kind of sustain where you bend a note, hold it, and then look around the room to highfive everybody, then look at your watch, then go downstairs and make sandwhich, and come back, and the sumbitch is still ringin'. :D

I'm using all v30s right now but this thread is giving me da GAS. For those who have heard both, which do you dig the most and why?

Welcome to the club bro

I've got the Weber 1225's with pre rola doping in my 412 and I love them. But I haven't had a chance to do any comparison with the Heritage's though.

I'm actually thinking of getting two more Webers for my 212.

I got the e-mail back from Gnugear regarding the Heritage speakers vs the others and he said that he likes the Scumback/Webers the best.

He said that the Scumback/Webers sound nearly identicle to his pre-rola basket weave cab. He said that they are just a bit stiffer.
The heritage series has something different in the mids compared to his oritginals and the scumbacks.

Barzini.... this is for you.... He also said that the Scumbacks have that papery sound that his basketweaves also have, so being that I know that you don't like that, I think the heritages are going to be a better fit for you.

Shit, now I gotta check out the webers. Ralph you suck.

The speakers that came in my Reinhardt cab are designed by Reinhardt and made by Weber. I like them alot but Ive had Webers I didnt like at all. So I guess it depends on the design. Cool thing was when I orderd my Reinhardt Bob told me if I didnt like his speakers ot let him know and we'd work something out which was really cool. Bob is top notch in my book. Anyway I ended up really liking his speakers alot. If I didnt have those I just get the Heritage's. The 5153 cab I heard sounded really nice.

Nah,,,stick to what you know and heard. If the heritages are doing it for you, there is no reason to look into the Webers IMHO.
