Holy Schnikies!!! Color me completely musically uncultured, but I just never realized how killer these guys were. Sure, I heard a tune here and there on the local metal station years ago, but wow! This album is blowing my socks off. I actually think Dimebag stole a couple of my rhythms. Had I known about this back then I could have sued him. ;-)

Anyway, I'm just shocked. What else have I missed? I must get out more often...

Check out Cowboys From Hell. That's their best album IMO. I don't really care for much of their other stuff to be honest.

One of my favorite CD's back when it came out.

Cowboy's from Hell is more 80's metal oriented.....

I'll definitely check that one out too now.

I also forgot to mention Dimebag's lead playing. Whoah!

Check out his solo in that song. 3:00-4:30 or so. Awesome song.

I'm only at 1:15 and I'm blown away. I love that rhythm groove.

Hell yeah, I've always loved the riffs in that song. Real simple but tons of groove.

I love the early stuff!! yeah its cheesy as hell, but there are some amazing groove rhythms on the old stuff and also its so cool listening to Dimebag's playing when he was like 17-18years old. Many of his trademark licks and vibrato were there since day one, and many riffs written back then were used in their later albums anyway..

For example, the outro to floods was written back in like 85-86 and was a part of Dimebag's live solo!

Hells Yes.

I haven't gotten to check it out yet but I also bought Machine Head's "The Blackening." I distractedly listened through about 2-3 tunes and decided to put on the Pantera CD and haven't gotten back to it yet.
