Every time I play this thing, I am more impressed.

It is so deep and great sounding that it has completely shifted the way I look at tone.

In fact, I am selling my cabs. I am now an Axe Fx, powered monitor guy. :rawk:

Incredible piece of gear

So, does this make me your crack-dealer for the Axe-FX??? ;)

I missed that....you are definitely my crack dealer

Are the effects as awesome as they say?

Some serious tone snobs seem to think the effects are top notch from what I have read

Cant really speak to that myself as I am not a big effects guy..but they work for me.

The amp modeling is what it is all about for me

Maybe we should talk about that :D

I am definitely addicted

Any clips yet? All I've heard where some xtc models recorded direct, but it sounded overly compressed and generic. I want to hear what these things are really capable of

Sounds like an awesome setup. But I'm too poor and stupid to buy/use one :D

You'd probably have a case... I read something on the BBC a couple of weeks ago of a lady in Canada, I believe, that sued her dealer because he sold her addictive substances... and won. :gethim:  :gethim:

There are TONS of clips floating around. Check the Axe Fx board.

I have never recorded anythgn on my own, but am seriously thinkign about it now that I have the Axe...

Hey Guys,

Haven't really been around the boards much lately and thought I would drop by.....

Still freaking loving the Axe Fx!!!!!!

Hands down, it is the best piece of guitar amplification gear I have ever bought. I have passing bouts of GAS for this or that every once in a while, but then I go play the Axe and   I haven't bought an amp on quite a while (for me at least :scared:   )

Love this tone tool!

I have been thinking about getting the Axe Fx so maybe some of you guys who have it can help me clear up some things I haven't been able to figure out well from the manual.

I see there are two sets of ins and outs. What I would like to do is run my guitar into the Axe FX, then have any (virtual) pedals that I might want in front of my preamp like phaser, eq, compressor and then go into my Egnater M4 preamp. Then I would go out of the M4 back into the Axe Fx for things like reverb, delay, chorus. I want to be able to toggle on and off the stombox FX with my midi controller and also have tap tempo from my controller for the delays. Is this possible?

How does the phaser hold up to something like a real Phase 90 when run as a virtual pedal in front of a real amp?

How does the wah funtion work? Would I be able to replace my Dunlop rack wah?

I listened to some of the more metal oriented clips and many too my ears still have that "Pod-like" modulation I hear in modelers. I think most of the clips definitely sound better than a pod for sure. Maybe if the sound was pumped through a power amp into a cab then miked I'd like it better?

Don't get me wrong some of the clips sound killer!, and some have very little of that modulation I am talking about. I am still very interested in these but not sold yet. Maybe if Zorran got one of these and did some clips I'd like it

Ahhh, nice to see others here drinkin the Kool Aide now. My all tube JVM halfstack has been sitting in the corner for months now since I've had my AxeFx Ultra. At the time I bought the JVM I was just too jaded to think about buying any kind of rack again for fear it would sound like the budget Line 6 crap, Digitech or Roland. And I wasn't impressed by the clips on Fractal's site either but with the 15 day money back guarantee how can ya lose??? I NEVER trust clips anyway. Too many variables. I'm a gearhead and was intrigued so I took the chance, bought it and was fuggin blown away! I wound up buying a Carvin all tube TS-100 power amp and two Marshall MC212 cabs to run the Ultra through in stereo and it's just unreal with the endless amount of tubelike tone and effects you can get with this unit. It's hot, scorchy, grindy, warm........you might as well call it an amp.

Where this thing really shines for me is that if your a gigging player performing alot of different tunes with alot of tonal variety than this is the box for you. I'd love to have a wall of amps but for what? Recording at home I suppose, to look at or just for the pure pleasure of playing through them alone with a couple drinks. But gigging with several amps is not only rediculous it's impractical. And I'm pretty hardcore and critical if your a band performing covers. If you can't get the tone close to the original then don't even bother. Play your own material I say or..........buy an Ultra!!

The AxeFx is just a radically different paradigm shift of technology from anything else available today. It's from a different planet. Yeah there are presets like with most any other gear, but learn the unit well and you can build the amp/s of your dreams with Eventide like quality effects. ( I've owned the Eclipse and the AxeFx effects are that good). The tones are spot on to almost any amp out there and there are dozens and dozens of these great tones tapped with the click of a midi foot controller.

I just can't imagine going back to a regular amp anymore. The AxeFx is just that good. You run this thing through a quality power amp and cab/s and you'll be blown away too. Fractal is supposed to be ramping up line production soon. I imagine a marketing blitz will follow and it will no longer be in the shadows.
