I think I have found a new level of dumbness in a buyer

Even when I tell people that I'm firm more often than not

I was selling a amp on craigs list years ago and a guy wanted to bring a case of beer to try it out! :ROFLMAO: Maybe when I was younger,
I said no (y)
Hell, no before that I was selling a motorcycle, and the dude was arguing I did not have a Yamaha YZ250 which is what I had.
I picked up a wrench to cold cock that mother in the head and told him so. He did all this in front of his wife:ROFLMAO:

Did I mention that I hate selling things?

Now that guy seems like the kind of guy I would love to sell an amp to.

No postal service? So in other words there is no thieves guild operating in your area. So what's the downside?

Have to drive into town to get my mail. Or anything for that matter.
Don't see my daughter as often as I would like, but that's more a mix of her age than location issues.
Suppose another downside is that I have no "dog in the fight" when it comes to the attenuator threads. 🤷‍♀️

Must be kind of nice to know a P.O. Box is not likely to fill up with junk mail…at least I hope it doesn’t. With gear, do you pick it up at the hubs of whoever was the shipping Co?

Have most stuff sent to one of our businesses in town.
Sometimes family will send stuff and I won't know it's been sitting there for weeks. o_O

I would tell the guy to move along. Who needs the hassle? If he wants it, he can come to you. Someone else will buy it eventually. I told some guy on Reverb who was belaboring me with questions once to move along. He got pissed and started arguing with me. LOL. They don't like it when you do that.

I'm sure alot of you guys are like me....if I want something specific and the price is right, I'll drive 8-12 sometimes to get i, but hell... I'm old school.:p:2thumbsup:

It seems most people today want everything delivered to them with a 90 day guarantee............ compliance grooming for 15 minutes cities I guess.:dunno:

Unfortunately LIFE doesn't work like that.......that's why Xanax and Zoloff are big sellers these days.

For craigslist stuff I just started putting in my cell number and said text or call only in the ad, warning that I rarely check emails. All the people who can't read my ad send emails that I'll see a week or two later, lol. Surprise, those are the guys offering trades when I said no trades or just general tire kicking and lowballing. I have had exceedingly good luck with buyers and sellers both, which kinda offsets my very negative ebay experiences.
CL still works with people who aren't socially retarded and still know how to function amongst other human beings....and then you have the special people....

I had a local'ish guy message me on FB about my Von K Tele I'm selling and asked several questions about it and was like alright, I'm free Wednesday, I can meet up with you then. Then today it starts to devolve into hey, is there any way you'd take $100 less? Once I told him no, I was pretty firm, he came back with well can you meet me in x-town so I can look at it? I want to check it out first because it's not a well known brand and if I go to sell it, I may not be able to. I told him he didn't sound very convinced he wanted the guitar, so I wasn't going to drive an hour and a half round trip for him to just look at it and see what he thought, because if he didn't buy it, I'm out all that gas money and time. Then he replies with well, I'm interested, but I don't want to drive 2 hours round trip to look at a guitar that I'm not sure about. If it were a Nash or something I'd definitely do it, but a brand I'm not familiar with, I want to get my hands on it first.

I'm sorry, where is it my problem your town is an hour from me? Guitar Center isn't going to bring that new Ibanez you've been looking at to your house or meet you halfway so you can see how the frets feel and the body weight and then you decide whether you want it or not. The audacity of lazy fucks these days and their entitled attitudes. He's EXACTLY the kind of dude who'd buy a guitar from you or me off Reverb, try it out for a week and just not really like the way the pickups sound with his amp, and return it. Fuck the general public. This is why I have a million guitars and amps I'll never ever use; because I hate dealing with buyers who think personal commerce works like WalMart.
A Nash guitar isn't a junk guitar.....how much is a Von K Tele?

Dude has a few pedals for sale and I am interested in one. Says calls only. I text and ask if he’ll ship? Says yes and then asks me to call him… 😒. I’m not really looking for a relationship right now… I’m semi happily married so…. Yeah I’m not calling….

The farthest I have driven to buy something was 4.5 hours one way. I have also made many 2 hours and under trips to meet up to sell or buy as well. I stopped letting anyone make me jump through hoops to buy or sell a long time ago.

And if there are feet in the pics, I am not buying.
