I had a local'ish guy message me on FB about my Von K Tele I'm selling and asked several questions about it and was like alright, I'm free Wednesday, I can meet up with you then. Then today it starts to devolve into hey, is there any way you'd take $100 less? Once I told him no, I was pretty firm, he came back with well can you meet me in x-town so I can look at it? I want to check it out first because it's not a well known brand and if I go to sell it, I may not be able to. I told him he didn't sound very convinced he wanted the guitar, so I wasn't going to drive an hour and a half round trip for him to just look at it and see what he thought, because if he didn't buy it, I'm out all that gas money and time. Then he replies with well, I'm interested, but I don't want to drive 2 hours round trip to look at a guitar that I'm not sure about. If it were a Nash or something I'd definitely do it, but a brand I'm not familiar with, I want to get my hands on it first.
I'm sorry, where is it my problem your town is an hour from me? Guitar Center isn't going to bring that new Ibanez you've been looking at to your house or meet you halfway so you can see how the frets feel and the body weight and then you decide whether you want it or not. The audacity of lazy fucks these days and their entitled attitudes. He's EXACTLY the kind of dude who'd buy a guitar from you or me off Reverb, try it out for a week and just not really like the way the pickups sound with his amp, and return it. Fuck the general public. This is why I have a million guitars and amps I'll never ever use; because I hate dealing with buyers who think personal commerce works like WalMart.
