If you've got the goods in your playing, dialing and recording, you can get scary close with a Variplex, PM, Metro, and prolly a dozen other amps out there... Truthfully, with any of the amps I mentioned, how you play is the most important factor...

...and "Hang "Em High" was written (different lyrics though) well before VHI came out...

i'll VH 1 over VH 2 by a long shot for tone, 2 just seems like a more obtainible sound?
