I think between the variplex,Peacemaker and the Metros, you can get pretty close to whatever Marshall/EVH type of tone you want. There are Lots of options that we have these days that we did not have years ago.

If you've got the goods in your playing, dialing and recording, you can get scary close with a Variplex, PM, Metro, and prolly a dozen other amps out there... Truthfully, with any of the amps I mentioned, how you play is the most important factor...

So far... I think I have the recording down...

Lotta filler on Diver Down, but "Where Have All The Good Times Gone" was cool, and "Pretty Woman" is bad ass.

I hate everything about Diver Down!!!

Really....?? Damn..., I love "Hang 'Em High" and "The Full Bug"... Classic EVH tunage and DLR caterwaulin' if ya ask me...

...and "Hang "Em High" was written (different lyrics though) well before VHI came out...

i'll VH 1 over VH 2 by a long shot for tone, 2 just seems like a more obtainible sound?
