I’m actually taking a seasonal break after this weekend and want to complete a new personal amp over my 17 day holiday break. Amps just cost so much money upfront to build and not a lot of profit margin to compete with the stable boutique guys like Friedman, etc. Also, you have the guys that are more techy and less business and the later is actually the more important part.ToneNerd. Dude went down the pickup winding rabbit hole and hasn’t come back.
This, exactly. USA made Randall's were the shit. Still nothing that sounds like those old FET based SS amps.Randall, late 80s, early 90s era...
Quinn Amps so I can buy and play metal on a TKT103, post clips and outrage TGP
Cobra and Dragon have both about the same amount of gain, they don't differ that much from each other.Speaking of which, what one had the higher gain. Cobra or Dragon? I thought the Cobra did.
They're back in business, but they aren't making any rack gear or supporting it in any way.
I think they realized they couldn't make a decent amp but they decided to invest into their line of glue! Smart move on their partGorilla
Killer amps.Roccaforte
And not many dared work on those, if you could find anyone besides DAR.He spent a ton of money trying to productionize the amps and the market didn’t support the investment so he went under. It was business reasons.
That dude could wire up CP3PO.ToneNerd. Dude went down the pickup winding rabbit hole and hasn’t come back.
