Check out the road in front of my house. I filmed this early in the morning but it was worse than this when i woke up about 30 minutes earlier. You probably could have taken a Kayak down the hill.

That sucks guys. Today late here we had the craziest follow up weather. the day was going along with medium temperatures and then it was like some one threw the world here in a sauna that was wide open. This all happened in like 45 minutes, like a heat wave.
Then the skies turned black and the wind started up again like when the hurricane brushed us saturday and the rain started. After about 35 minutes of this the skies lightened back up but the rain is still coming down some 4 hours later.....
Hope you guys are okay up there. I tell myself I am gonna just wake up and go day to day with things the way they are, weather, economy etc...... :)

Everyone I know is ok, I didn'y get any water as that flood was contained by the street, some people down the hill weren't so lucky.

But this is wierd, I tell my wife I'm going out for a walk to look at the river by my house with the dog and she yells at me "don't fall in or do anything stupid" I say I'm going to look at some flooding, what could happen? Well, nothing happened to me, but i get home, Daughter is sleeping so I jump on the PC and I read that a 39 year old man went for a walk to look at flooding and fell in a stream that was raging rapids, and drowned. Just sad, but the river and water falls near my house were RAGING and anyone who fell in wouldn't have come out.

It don't take but a second or two and it's over when it comes to water.
This summer we were sitting at a table in McCurdy's right on the water front on the sound side right after you cross the big island bridge at Atlantic beach/Morehead N.C.
My wife was telling a lady that I am basically a nut and the lady said How so?
I leaned over and said, I would go out and jump into the water right off the dock and swim out to the flag on a pole across the docks... on the other side of the cove/bay.
The lady she said that I would not.
Well, I got up and started out the door and my wife stopped me and that at the time made me mad. :gethim:
But the next day when we went back to McCurdy's, the owner and my wife said , I am older so I could get a cramp during the swim, and that would be the end of it. but they both knew I would do it regardless, so my status as a crazy is safe where it counts.
It kinda struck home a few days later though the more I thought about what they said..
With water it don't take much and you are done for.
Water the most destructive force on earth...... Then mad wives. Then children, and so on and so forth.....

I haven't been watching TV much here of late, but I did catch a glimpse of what is going on up in that part of the U.S. I just want to let all you know that my thoughts and prayers are with each and every single one of you that are going through this rough time.

Stay strong!

Hype!?! Weather affects 65 million people on the coast and kills 40+ and some think it was over-blown? Wow. This storm was a monster. If it didn't harm you or damage your property, you were lucky.

Wonder what this driver thought of the hype?

I can't believe that thousands still don't have power and the flood is taking a long time to recede.

This is today.
