Steve,

A Mark Cameron modded amp would be worth more money on ebay. Maybe he is a collector.
Maybe the customer doesn't know the difference in mods but likes the cameron sound, wants it a little tweaked to his specs.

To me, someone who is into chasing a modded tone either by mr cameron or some of the other very talented & very capable builders here on rig talk aren't necessarily looking to make a few bucks IMO.

I'm sure the resale value may be a little more in the sweet spot however within this area of specialised modifications and electronics you are at the premium end of the scale and custom tone is more about what you want and not about how much your getting back.

Just a thought

Although not a collector, I do like the Cameron sound and his work in general. All I'm asking for is if he can throw in a custom tweak here and there...I'm sure many here on this forum have done the same.

You make it sound like NASA!

My point of view from watching this thread is the OP was just asking a simple question, maybe some contact info on Mark.

Since Brad King now OWNS the Cameron Designs and is having them built in full trim by Metro amps I don't think you can get a Cameron style circuit in a Mod anymore. Not by Brad or Cameron anyway. FJA and MANY other have youtube clips of Modded Cameron Designs which were based of the Jose mods with some tweaks.

Is Mark Cameron still around modding amps? Question still stands.

I believe he is. Although, I also believe it goes against the contract he signed with Brad, Rob and Dave when they established the new Cameron Amplification. That being said, contracts and verbal agreements apparently are not things Mark has ever had much interest in honouring.......so the stories go, anyways.......

Man, all this legal shit sounds like a real bummer.

I feel I must address this in a long post that might get me banned,

Yeah dude....best to let the sleeping dogs lie. This will not end well.

Thanks to all for the input. I think I am going to hold off for the time being from what I have read. I appreciate both sides of the story. With so many differing points of view, I think it's safe to hold off.

I already have a Cameron modded Marshall...I was just looking to add to the arsenal. Not sure when the mod was done, but the amp kills. I have considered selling it since I need a llittle more versatility in my rig. Not sure if I want to or not, but I miss having switchable channels, etc.

I'm fairly certain there were no differeng view points.

If you want a Cameron, buy a used channel switching mod, or a good CCV, and call it a day.

What do you mean? Some posts were about Mark taking amps/money and ripping people off, other posts recommended to have other people mod because Mark is hard to deal with on a personal and professional level, other posts said his work isn't as good as it was back in the day, other posts said that they were unsure if he still mods due to contractual issues....others said he may be still be modding. I'd consider that differing points of view.

No matter if he is modding or not (which was the original question), I choose to pass considering the aforementioned.

No, I still don't see differing points of view. EVERYBODY has consistently said to steer clear of having Mark do a "new" mod for you. Various reasons were cited, but the punchline is the same:

DON'T DO IT.

And, now you're not. So you listened!

Yes, I listened...now I need to find one here or on Ebay. I found a few on Ebay, but not what I am after...plus they were listed for $2500...is that the going rate?

I am considering selling mine (I have a previously Cameron modded 78 Marshall Super Lead)...maybe I can sell it for the funds, or perhaps someone might be interested in a trade? I can't post to the classifieds yet, so I am stuck until I hit 50 posts.

I bought my Aldrich 2 channel a few months back for $2600. I think 2 other 2 channels went at the same time for $2700 and $2800. You can get the single channels pretty cheaply but the 2 channels will cost you.

There's ways to speed up the 50 post rule. Go into the main forum and post a "How to get an EVH Tone" or "Kirk Hammett is God" thread. You should be there in about 15-20 minutes with replies.

For maximum traffic, it needs to be on the main forum though. Nobody comes down here to the vaporware section anymore....
