Is there ONE amp that you could get by with as your single amp?

Recto for me. Clean and dirty, a handful of pedals on the floor, and I could do just about anything with it.

At one point many years ago, a Recto actually was all I had, and that was gigging quite frequently.

I love my MGL. It is my only amp. It does everything i want except for crystal cleans.

The only other amp I would consider to replace it would be Lenz octane. But I would have to play it first to see if it could dethrone the MGL

Just curious if there is an amp that you could live with being the only amp you have?

Edit: for me.....I certainly could get by with just my Silver Jubilee and a SD-1.

I love the jubilee for sure. A boost makes it sound fucking sweet.

Yes, easily and preferably.

I really don't like owning alot of amps. Guitars, yeah but not amps. I have "my tone" I try to dial in and that's it. And what's funny is it's basically the same tone I've always tried to dial in for the last 40 years that's worked on any style music I've played from 80's rock to metal to Alt rock. Now sure I've gone through alot of amps to dial in my tone, some worked some didn't but when I found it I've generally stuck with those amps for years.

I am similar to you and dan, except i really like one electric and one amp

Even though I've had/have alot of guitars, still it always comes down to one or two tops. For years it was my ESP Horizon, then I'd have similar ESP backups for that. Then it was Les Pauls, same story then PRS's, same story. Really the only guitar I don't own anymore was my main ESP. Still have my number one Les Paul and my number one PRS and those are the one's I still play.

For the last decade it was my custom built 50w Jubilee but once I got my Mark VII, it was game over. The amp can literally do everything I need without breaking a sweat. Cleans, blues, modern country, classic rock, 90's grunge, 2000's metal... And the best part is that unlike the Marks I've had in the past, this one just sounds great everywhere and doesn't need to be "dialed in" and doesn't punish you for straying outside of the commonly held "sweet spots" of the eq knob settings.

For me as a solo in a small place? My Fishman Loud Box Performer. One guitar input, one mic input. Larger gigs it's my two JBL PRX ONE's and more guitars and effects.

That's a tough one as I've got several amps that I would be okay with if they were my only amp.

I guess if I had to choose one, it would be the Mesa Roadster. I might give a different answer tomorrow.

My SLO or Sig:X.

Surprised this made it to page 2 without a Fractal or Kemper chirp.

That is something i need to try. The way guys talk about fractal, it really makes me wonder. But i would have to play someone's that is already setup. That way i could test sound and feel

Of the amps I own today:
Diezel Hagen
KSR Artemis II
SLO
I could also be happy with just my AxeFxIII. I’ve gone long stretches (year+) where that is all I play. But I do enjoy mixing it up.

Any one of the amps I have could be that amp. The Variety on my T-Verb makes it a leading contender. But typically, any good single channel Marshall original or variant is the ticket.
