....For every who called me out for saying 5150s are unreliable in the 1992 nad post

WHAT DO YOU KNOW MY BRAND NEW 1992 THAT IVE HAD FOR 2 MONTHS HAS BLOWN THROUGH HALF A DOZEN FUSES AND A QUAD OF TUBES

It's still under warranty unless I crack the hood open, so it's headed back to sender

Please feel free to inform me how my brand new amplifier blowing fuses and tubes constantly is some kind of user error while I pack this up, to ship it back to AMS, and pray to Crom the replacement they send isn't a great sounding but poorly built piece of shit like every 5150 I've ever owned 🤣

At least the white/gray loom with all the wires on it didn't catch on fire this time.

I have a jtm30 combo that was supposed to be one of the worst things Marshall ever made, but it ran for thousands of hours on the factory sovteks over lots of shows and at home before finally dying after my daughter had it for a few months. It wouldn't power on anymore. No blown fuses or anything looking burned. Thought, what the heck I'll try a different power cord and it felt wobbly when I plugged it in. Looking inside of the power connector I noticed one of the prongs had broken out. Guessing this is why it won't power on :ROFLMAO: . Gonna try and replace it today and find out. I wonder if she did it on purpose to get a new amp? :ROFLMAO:🤷‍♀️

Man, I wish that was what's wrong with my 1992. It started out blowing fuses at band practice every week, to the point where it was a band inside joke

Then it powered up, but the standby switch stopped lighting up when it was activated - no sound.

Im so irritated I might sell the replacement, as long as THAT is fully functional and not a piece of shit - I wouldn't want that on my conscience

So you had a failed tube or tubes…new set of tubes and back in buisness. My PS-2 just ate a power tube a few weeks ago. Tubes are at a not very good quality time period.

I dont know that bad power tubes have anything to do with standby light. Yeah. I would run. I try not to spend too much money on shit. It is a good rule

Definitely a bad power tube causing the fuses to blow, in my opinion👍

My DVL-1 did the same thing.
Tested the power tubes and one was bad.
George sent me a new set, been perfect ever since!

Nope, 2 of the fuses were blown with the original stock tubes (which all tested fine by the way), 4 of the blown fuses were after a brand new quad of mesa strs were installed, the standby not coming on is just the latest issue

But if it makes you feel better, yes, I've never had a tube amp before and I don't know how to replace and bias tubes, yeah that's totally it.

That sucks! Knock on wood…

So in all seriousness i am curious about the history. Did they make a peavey reissue? Or is this an old amp?

Had plenty of Peavey amps. Never had one shit the bed. I’ve actually been lucky I guess. Only amp I had that was a total loss was an Engl
