Fender has done that sort of thing way before this guitar. They blew out the black out teles a while back, they had 2 humbuckers.

I have a MIJ contemporary tele, it was made in 1988. To coil tapped humbuckers, fender fake floyd rose bridge. Its a darn heavy guitar and plays great, it was cheap too when I bought it well over 10 years ago. I would like to get a traditional tele at some point, even considering one of those SX copies....

I would dig the HH setup if it was blonde with an aged pickguard, and had Bareknuckle VHII pickups in it. That's a Tele I could really dig.

I'm pretty sure you can get replacement tele pickups that are humbuckers that fit single-coil sized cavities. Stacked 'buckers or some such.

Sure, but I don't actually want to put 'buckers in my tele. I really like the pickups in it, just saying it would probably rock w/ 'buckers also.

Now that's a gorgeous tele. My hat's off to you sir. I wouldn't dare route such a beautiful guitar. Is that the Custom Shop Custom Classic?

Its a '63 custom shop closet classic, yep. So it has some light checking and relicing, but not much. I like thin nitro on guitars tho.

The only tele I'd want with dual hums is the 72 RI with LP style controls. Those are kind of cool. I don't mind the minihum in the neck or hum like a G&L bluesboy, but I need a single at the bridge.

Yeah..it pushed me over the edge.


I figure with the AMS 3 pay plan, if I don't like it, I can return it even before the second payment is made...if I do like it, then it is 3 pretty small payments.

It should be here tomorrow. I live pretty close to the shipping facility it is coming from.

That is an awesome guitar! Is the locking nut at the headstock behind the regular nut? I hate when they do that!
