Fender has done that sort of thing way before this guitar. They blew out the black out teles a while back, they had 2 humbuckers.

I have a MIJ contemporary tele, it was made in 1988. To coil tapped humbuckers, fender fake floyd rose bridge. Its a darn heavy guitar and plays great, it was cheap too when I bought it well over 10 years ago. I would like to get a traditional tele at some point, even considering one of those SX copies....

That is an awesome guitar! Is the locking nut at the headstock behind the regular nut? I hate when they do that!

Yea the locking nut is after the nut. That is an old picture, when I took off the locking parts, but I had it put back to stock a year or two ago. I am surprised people like it, most people don't like the color or that its a tele with humbuckers and a floating bridge.

btw, which colour are you going for? white with black pickguard and ebony neck or black with white pickguard and maple neck?

For the coin, it is a great guitar.

Fit and finish are better than I was expecting. I did switch out the strings as soon as I got it. It came with 42's on it...way too light for me. Once I got 50's on there and made a few adjustments, it played great.

This guitar is as heavy as any LP I have used. Much heavier than I was expecting. Tone is very thick. I am positive Tele enthusiasts would hate it. It has none of the twang associated with e Tele. Which is exactly what I was looking for.


The neck is thicker than I was expecting, but all the frets are pretty accessable.

Comparing it to my Gutierrez guitars is not fair, but they are my gold standard and it isn't in the same league as them. Wouldn't expect it to be though.

All in all, great guitar for the cash. Not sure if I will keep it though...given my Gutierrez fetish and all
