I bought back in 86' the VHS tape 'Ultimate Ozzy, which was from the Ultimate Sin tour. I thought his tone was great on that and his solo was incredible. It's the solo where Ozzy pulls the shit out of his hair and Jake is just ripping it up. There's a scene from the solo where Jake is doing some clean playing and the camera zooms in on his hand and he's doing this insane stretch across like 10 frets with his thumb fretting notes up by the nut and his pinky is way up the neck. Super cool. Anyone remember this?

Just realized you said the '86 solo and I posted the '84 one, whoops. Well as you saw it's a killer one worth watching. That whole show live in salt lake city 1984 is great, can be found on bootleg DVD here and there or on youtube.

I saw that concert on MTV. Jake's coolness made me decide to be a rockstar. So yeah I remember it...it ruined my life!

That's Daisley on the stage no? Bob Daisley IS Ozzy. He did so much of the lyrics, parts and arranging that you can say that it was his band. He continued to work for/with Oz through No More Tears ...even after Sharoncunt lawyered him out of his royalties.

Jake always used a Boss OD-1 with Ozzy and in the Badlands era he also added a Kasha Quickmod to his amps giving them another 12AX7 preamp gain stage.

Had one of these, pretty cool if you didn't have the gain too far up. I could see that PLUS the OD-1 would be perfect for the tone. Or just an OD-1 opened up. I wish people would stop saying he doesn't use a lot of gain.. play those solos with those insane stretches and ask yourself if you can do it with just an 800 with hot pups. You need more. Not 6 preamps but def more than 3 and a JB.
