I have no use for a bump stock, but I can’t support an unconstitutional ban on them. I understand that sometimes politicians make concessions to avoid negative optics, especially when the media is already lined up against them. And bump stocks probably seemed relatively inconsequential in the big scheme of things. I disagree with that tactic wholeheartedly and when the NRA initially came out in support of the bump stock ban I expended what little capital I have with that organization in protest. So did millions of others and they very quickly changed course.

I never got the bump stock thing, a proficient shooter with a halfway decent trigger can get acceptably close to that rate of fire and be a hundred times more accurate, which has always been more important in my eyes. Just seemed like a novelty item with the sole purpose of spraying bullets with little regard for accuracy. Perfect for a mental case who wants to spray a crowd of innocent people.
When they started talking about banning them it actually made sense in that context.
But knowing the people who were behind the ban I was still against it.
The shooting community at large looks at people who show up with one with that grin on their face that seems to say “bless your heart”. 😂😂

At best I might avoid an inheritance tax and have some cheap(er) gas. I guess that's an improvement but I'm not getting out of my chair.

Pretty sure the movie was awarded and theoretically can't be a dud 'cause Ron Howard. Theoretically.

She is. And she's got acting chops. Supposedly avoids the limelight and is more like a regular person than a hollywood starlet. Probably why she played a drug addicted hillbilly so well. Same with Glenn Close. Those two were really believable. Had the look and act down. If the guy playing JD Vance had been a stronger personality it would've been a better film.
