Me and Donnie were very adversarial and then monkey, Donnie and I had a private conversation. Then we communicated some privately. He was extremely respectful to me and very likable. Hell I can get along with anyone. Our communication was very sporadic. Out of the blue he told me about his health issues and at that time I tried to proselytize to him very slightly. My last communication to him was a video of psalm 88…. It’s kinda dark but appropriate I think. Here it is-

There's good, honest, and trustworthy people on here for sure, but sometimes things go sideways...

I bought an item here several months back that was "mint", when in fact it wasn't, and had issues to boot. The seller is well-known here, with a primarily stellar reputation.

Long story short, I paid via PPFF. I receive payments the same way, so I thought nothing of it. I was pissed when I received the item, and spent money out of pocket to rectify the item's issues. Bottom line, seller flat-out lied. These problems stuck out like a sore thumb. But, I kept it, fixed it up, and moved on. I felt like outing him, but fuck it. There was nothing to gain, other than shitting on him, really, and it just wasn't worth it. I won't buy anything from this individual again, chances are, he probably thinks others out there think "mint" means "some dings and dents, and needs work".

Wow, what a ride.
Hope everything got resolved.
As I like both parties involved in this.
No dog in fight one way or the other.
Seems like a huge pile of some misunderstandings.
As my eye sight fades, for example, I could see myself missing a chip or crack.
If I'm spending more than say $1,000 on a guitar and the pics are fuzzy - I'm gonna demand better pics.
But like Monkey Man (Japetus actually) said, R-T Classifieds are like a big post it board.
Moderators 'shouldn't' have to get involved - but it is good to know we have some of the best in the business.
Long live Rig-Talk

This is unfortunate. I agree with you on what mint is. I like to bang my headstock into the wall everyonce in awhile to remind myself that guitars are to play, so nothing i have is mint.

My amps i baby.

^ Oooops. Sorry Jape

And @simonfrewler , I have no problem with you as you know. You have to admit though, when you got here, your posting style was very "Alt'ish". You seemed to know a lot about what was going on and who was who. Your signature didn't help. :dunno:

Also, the whole 'Post Clips' thing is a long standing inside joke. Being that there are lots of people (some anyway) that carry a big stick but have no proof they even play guitar. Not that that is a requirement or anything. It just became a joke. I would have thought you would have realized that. I've said it plenty of times. But I don't think it is any reason to get upset or call someone out on it.

But no worries my friend. Carry on.

I had a very similar experience about a year ago, and pretty much did exactly the same thing. Didn't out them, but made a mental note never to do business with them again.

some may have noticed I don't buy or sell things here; I did when I first joined RT.

I purchased a TriAxis with phat mod from a member, deal went well; also purchased a rack power conditioner from Brad King when he owned this place; he just tossed it in a box with a little bubble wrap, the box was too big so the item was able to move around in the box easily during shipping, luckily it survived, so no issues. I may have bought or sold other things back then, but can't remember.

a possible bad deal here isn't worth it IMO.

I've done some deals with dudes on here and they all went smooth. I agree selling elsewhere is a PITA. I'd rather give a brother (or sister) here a lower price than normal then deal with the outside world

I think I could trust just about everybody on here. But in a bucket of apples there is always a bad one occasionally. (Not saying John is as have no details.)

If all else fails - I'll trade something to GC, although not ideal.
