Just finished another Warmoth... Black Korina N4 Soloist.

I'd be STOKED to build one for you... that would be my 2nd commisioned build.

Me and my father actually want to start a part time guitar-assembly/tech business.

Hey Nick, I went over to the Warmoth forum and found your thread related to this build. Very meticulous! And very interesting.

And by the way. That Pierro logo is one heck of a well done design. Good job man.

Great job Nick! I'm not into those finishes, (personal preference), but that really looks well done, well made and great result!

Eric, nice blues too! I wasn't a big blue fan either until I saw a blueburst Ric that blew me away- now I'm very into blue...go figure! (BTW, I now own that Ric!)

Wish I had the skilz you guys have, very awesome work. I'm getting ready to tweak the setup of a couple of my guitars; I used to have them setup by experts..I ordered a couple of books to see if I want to give it a go, or bring to a professional tech...I don't think they need anything major like neck straightening/truss rod adjustments (heard too many horror stories about broken necks / rods, so I won't be going that far myself.

Klark, welcome! FWIW, This is a very friendly board, one of the friendliest around. If Nick, the OP, was miffed at the replies or where the thread was going it would be his place to say so - though I haven't seen that done here. I've hijacked my share of threads  most thread hijackers just get ignored around here if they are way off topic. Here, I leave moderating up to the moderators, let them do their job - unless it gets ugly: insulting, rude, crude or mean, etc., which is rare here, the mods keep this in check. I think the other's who shared their skills, like Eric, added to this conversation, and made the topic take on new dimensions. I'd like to see more of their work (Nick, Eric, others) too. It may be a guitar players forum as you stated, but its the most civil and informative I've found not dedicated to a single brand...Off my soapbox now.

Nick, again, great job - love to see more...

Wow! Great job Nick, I can see the meticulous attention to detail at work there, which is something that I can identify with. That turned out Great!

I like the fact that you are doing some of your own finishing to keep the cost down. Last time I assembled a guitar it cost me at least $1500 by the time I was done. I almost could have bought a new Washburn N4 for that kind of dough.

For the folks who build using Warmoth bodies and necks, have you ever assembled a guitar only to be dissapointed with the tone or resonance?

Eric! I love what you did with these. I wasn't aware you could get a hollow body like that from Warmoth. Good job on both guitars!

When I started doing this, I didn't know nearly enough about wood, so yes I have. But that was more a problem of my lack of education on what woods really sound like, and how they sound best together. Secondly, i was not matching the guitars with the right pickups either. It has taken me the 7 years I've been doing it to really understand what are the best combinations, and I really feel I have that down now. The last 15-17 I've done, I've been SUPER happy with.

Nick and Eric, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to build your Telecasters? (I know this thread was originally about the N4 but now it's about Warmoth and building in general so if you don't like my question, well... blow me.) Nick, I know you've built two (that I know of) Telecaster Deluxes and that's what I would be interested in building as well, with my customizations obviously. I just can't justify spending too much over a grand for a bolt-on neck guitar. Now I know there are plenty of great bolt-ons for over a grand, but it's just a thing I have. If, say, it cost me $1500 to build a Tele Deluxe, well then it's just not worth it to me. Also, if you don't want to talk costs publicly, feel free to PM me. Thanks!

I think mine was around $900. I got that body off of the showcase from warmoth for $400. The neck I got for $300. The Suhr tele pickups were like $130 used. Misc parts $70.

But mine more expensive because it was hard ash, had the natural binding, etc. Watch Warmoth's showcase though, because you'll see STUPID deals from time to time. I just got this bass body off of their showcase yesterday for $290 w/ tax / shipping / routed. I'm gonna put a MusicMan pickup in the bridge and a jazz pickup in the neck. Gonna put Nordstrand pickups (MM4.2 and NJ4SV) in it and Aguilar OBP-1 preamp wired w/ 18V. Gonna kick some major bootay :).

Gonna have a Wenge neck w/ a ebony fingerboard. Replacing a bass body I already have. It's the P/J setup, which I like...but not love. I really miss my old EB MM guitar I had back when...But I LOVE my Wenge neck...so...hence the change!!! :)

Eric
