Lack of GAS

It’s certainly forced me to play more and look less. I got all that I really desired, I can do more with what I have now than anything.

The only thing that hasn’t changed is my desire and need for mic stands, mics, an interface, and other recording gear. I have great guitars and amps, I need recording gear to match it.

I agree. Haven’t had bad gas in a while, but the prices are certainly having a major impact.

The only thing I’d shell out money for at this point is a VHT 2150/Classic.

It’s kind of a bummer not being excited about the next piece coming in, but the bank account sure is nice.

So the crazy price tag on used gear has pretty much extinguished most if not all GAS that I might be feeling. It‘s kinda disappointing but on the other hand a relief. What’s your thoughts?
I feel your pain. Yes, it's a blessing in disguise. I did order a Hot Mod for the Runt though. Curiosity won out.

Not really because of the prices, but just because I’ve felt like I had too much stuff I did some massive cutbacks, down to 3 guitars, one amp (and a Katana for backup at gigs), 2 cabs, a delay and an EQ pedal. And my tone has done nothing but get basically perfect to my ear.

Far cry from having 20 guitars, 4-5 amps at a time. And they were all pretty much a waste of time.

I'm cool.
Lots of money in savings.
Clean credit cards,great credit rating.
Could order any amp I want, but am more than happy with what I have.
Now I just want a good meal and a nice nap.
I'm old.

But damned if I don't ALWAYS look at the classifieds to see what's available....

These ^^ last 2 posts are me exactly. Only certain things (hard to find) will get me going lately...that and the Naylor SD60 I'm still waiting on..

I'm happy I got in on the gear I currently have before everything went insane, and have more than enough stuff to keep me entertained. The only WTB on my list is a mark 3 coliseum which is impossible to find, but the search is part of the fun.

I haven’t gas’d for anything for quite some time…. Guitar related anyways. Pro audio on the other hand…

Until my buddy brought over his 101B…. Fuck…. I’ll for sure be buying one this year now.

I'm in the middle of a fire sale to pay for some medical stuff.... but theres still ONE thing i'll forgo next months rent for :ROFLMAO:

I like to pretend I dont have it THAT bad, but i do... my GAS is just item dependent

I don't have any desire for any new amps at the moment and it's a relief. I have a feeling of contentment that I haven't had in awhile

Man, I KNOW that feeling

But there are always guitars, pedals, rack pieces, whatever... that you just HAVE to have.

I have a PCM81 that’s mint that I don’t play. I don’t dare sell it because I’ll never get another one in the condition it’s in for what I have in it after buying it broken and repairing it.

I’m at a point of building a pedalboard and tap dancing. The second I desire to go MIDI or some other complex rack build I immediately know I won’t spend the time to set it up or learn how to change things programmatically or even want to bother setting patch levels to match one another like I had to do back in the day.

Basically as long as my setup stays simple, I’m more likely to play rather than not.

Just don’t ask my rig to go from a solo to clean with chorus immediately 😂

I have 2 guitars on order but the only 2 things I really want besides those is I want an amp switcher and to get my pedalboard setup. My pedalboard's cable management is atrocious. It would be nice to have a tidy board.

I just got a 3 unit rack that's basically a headshell and my PS2 is currently in it. I was thinking of adding the amp/cab switcher to it then run my pedalboard into into the fryette powerstation then call my rig complete until I can get a bigger place to add a new cab.

Man, I just got a boss es-5 and made it happen. And then I made it happen at gigs, and now its a magic trick I can do.

It's not that complicated man! just take the leap!

The problem Is not just taking the leap. It’s that what I desire cannot easily be done.

I want to mix effects in parallel that are post preamp only tube buffered, all analog.

I also want to turn effects on and off with MIDI and not change patches within MIDI. I also need to be able to set a volume knob correction for each tube buffered slot so that I can set the volume matching manually and quickly on the fly, set it and forget it mentality.

Absolutely nothing like this exists. These features come partially from gig experience pissing off FOH with changing volume levels for many gigs and partially from my mixing preference with my damage control timeline.

so I don’t bother. Pedal dancing and simplicity in full force.

I only have GAS for very, very specific items.
This has basically been me the last few years, BUT there are so many very, very specific items on my radar that I've still bought and sold tons of stuff lol, it just gets more specific, but getting narrower each time to trying it all. Just a couple guitars, amps, speakers and GEC tubes left more or less

Count me in on a sick 2150. Maybe once the zombies kill all y'all.

otherwize... turn your amps up. For those lucky enough to have a 4x12 or 2. Let your guitar fill the house up with earsplitting, HOA violating volume.
