Well, I haven't posted in here for ages... I actually forgot about this account lol So here are a few of mine to bring this Gibson post back up...

I left the Les Paul camp and went to Knaggs steckel and stevens. The key with Knaggs is to stay away from the Knaggs bridge and use a bridge like the steckel and stevens. Like a Les Paul style bridge. It sounds much better to me.

I REALLY need me a black LPC! lol That's after I can find a LP Studio Premium Plus Black AAA Flame Top...
 
I have a dozen or so. My best is this 'pre-Historic' burst reissue that I got through Guitar Trader in '83.
Still my all-time favorite LP four decades later. Lightweight, with an incredibly lively neck.
She was gigged heavily over the years and shows some wear.
But her scars were earned in battle.

Yep, factory finish. I think they made 10 in that colour (frost blue), 10 in red, 10 in pelham blue and 10 in green. It was the best sounding LP in the shop the first time I saw it, but I was looking for a tele at the time so passed it up. Went back months later and my GF at the time picked it out as one I should try. Played it again and it still sounded and felt great, so despite the neck have some marks on it from the guitar stand I decided not to pass it up a second time. Glad I pulled the trigger because it’s a really fun guitar - cleans up great and it screams when you open it up.

(*edited because the colour is frost blue, not ice blue!)

A handful of others, not all of them Gibsons. In the early 2000s the prices on Japanese 70s/80s/90s Les Pauls were ridiculously low for the build quality. Went on a binge for a bit and wound up with a Burny, a Greco, an Edwards, an Orville, and an Orville By Gibson. (Also a 1980 Tokai Strat.)









Orville quilt top Standard, special order raspberry with gold hardware and matching headstock.
Never seen another, though they made a limited-edition batch in regular trans red.
It looks pinker than this in person. No pickguard or pokerchip, a hallmark of Fujigen custom builds.










Also got this cheapo LP copy for hazard duty in dive bars & rough neighborhoods.
(A bandmate's '68 Goldtop got stolen at CBGB back in the day.)
