Trying to decide between GS-4 or Mogami 2319 for wiring my rack up. Mogami is about $.06 cheaper @ redco, but I like the copper of Canare. Anyone know what Mogami uses for metal in their cable? doesn't matter I guess, more guys tend to go with Mogami it seems.
What the hell does 100% oxygen free really mean(Canare description)? Canare is super flexible too, they wrap up real nice and easy.
Having worked with both of those, they both have pros and cons.
Canare:
1. sounds great
2. solder sticks really easily (seems easier to adhere than Mogami)
3. wraps nicely, flexible
4. must deal with braided shield, (not too big of a deal)
Mogami:
1. sounds great
2. strips more easily than Canare
3. shield not braided, easy to work with
4. wraps nicely, flexible
Overall, it's a toss up. why not buy both, and do a comparison. I'm sure you could find a buyer if you find you prefer one over the other.
I prefer Canare GS-4. I would buy a couple hundred feet of this right now without batting and eye. It even sounds decent as a main cable. Great stuff!
