Looking for Living Room amp

Quad Cortex -> soundcard -> neutral speakers? I love my Marshall JVM-1H with a Marshall 1912 1x12 cab plus pedals for low volume use.

Every Diezel I ever had (VH4, VH2, Paul, Big Max, VHX) had a very friendly Master Volume and sound great at bedroom volume. Have the Headfirst Alta 100 now and it's fantastic at low volume.

If I was looking for a versatile, all in one, living room amp (that can do even more), it would be my Diezel VHX. You can run it to guitar cab, FRFR or headphones.

But we are talking about a living room practice amp. That can be out of the way, possibly hidden.
To be honest, the katana doesn't even look that bad. It's kind of sharp.

But I will bow out now. Don't want to overtake the thread.
Good luck on your quest, OP!🤘
Thanks….definitely looking for a combo. Price point is definitely less than $300. I’m going to hit up GC and try some of the possibilities, including Katana again. Just want an amp to get the fingers moving and play without firing up the Deathstar downstairs, that hopefully sounds reasonably inspirational.

I think for the living room the Spark looks nice and sounds good. Has lots of bells and whistles and does not look like something from a band rehearsal. The Yamaha THR is good too but the Spark looks more like a nice blue tooth speaker the wife may be more appealing towards.

I’m not sure about any of the amps that would require an app to manipulate but when I think about being lazy on the couch and the amp is across the room, it may not be a bad idea.

Anyone have an inexpensive wireless they use that has done well? I know some of these amps come with it but in case I needed to get a separate one. I tried a cheap 2.4Ghz one of Amazon one time and it was terrible.

Probably won’t use headphones most of the time and too expensive and pretty ugly for a LR.

what's an LR?

you can find em for ~$500 on reverb. i just hook mine up to my laptop and have a full recording setup etc...pretty handy from a space standpoint :dunno:

You don’t need an app unless you want to go deeper or download settings or use the AI to create a setting for you. You can just plug in and play and use the controls on the Spark and it’s all good.
