This is a huge speaker. I had to take the reverb tank out of my RM50 to get it in. Then I found out that the mounting screws I have are too short. Off to the hardware store for me today.

Has anyone tried one of these? What would you compare it too? I have a V12 around that I used for years so I wonder how close they are.

I have the Lynch Box Cab with 4 of these speakers in it.
I like it alot. Had a Cheaper brand cab before this. I had to totally re-set my amp since it was sounding deeper and bassier. I love that low end it gives. Let us know how you like it. ;)

I only had a few minutes with it last night but it sounded good. I tried it on it's own and also with a TM2X12 with an E80 and ET65 in it. I am going to A/B it on it's own and with the 2X12 tonight. I am running a RM50 combo with Mr Scary, JF modded Brahma, BE modded Plexi, and a DLX module.

The Super V is a great speaker...Just bought 2 of them....running one with a WGS 65 in a 2/12....quite the tone!!!

Interesting. I have mine in the combo now running with a 2X12 with a ET65 and E80. Maybe I should pull the 80 and put that in the combo. Glad I bought the battery powered screwdriver.

fek, the Super V has this sweet sort of aggressive mid thing that's real nice...kind of greenback like, but way improved.....

Aren't they like 200 watts! I thought they would be too high of a wattage to be good at reasonable levels so I never bought them but you have me interested. I like the CL80/K100 combo and the WGS ET65/V30 combo.

the Super V's can take a lot of power, but they break up nice at lower volumes....not really a super clean speaker

Really? Are they USA made? Tight, punchy? Warm? A big thing with me is I do not like one dimensional speakers,
I like them fairly warm at decent volumes, clean and dirty. I always felt lower wattage speakers handle lower volumes better...
but I know that is not always true.....speaker sensitivity plays into it. Did you compare to the WGS?

On a side note...I used to have one of those Ear Candy cabs. Sold it last year.

I am going to burn it in a little more tonight but my first thought is that it sounds great. Similar to the ET65 I have running but a little deeper. It does seem to break up quite nicely at lower volumes also. I hear that it likes to be pushed but that test will have to wait for the weekend.

Keep us posted! This is what Eminence says about them...

"The Lynch Super V12 has a very warm, smooth, clean, full tone. It has a fat, round, punchy low end and warm, smooth mids and highs. It's a more mellow, cleaner British tone, in my opinion. I don't think it's just for metal at all. It's great if you want a warm, smooth, more mellow blues or rock tone, too."

I wonder how they would compare to my CL80\K-100 combo.

Although I can hear the 'clean British' thing....anyone who says the Lynch 4x12 is not suited for metal is wrong...man that thing has punch and prescence.

I don't think I can play mine loud enough to break the speakers in tho' .. that's some bloody high powered speakers in that cab.

I like it better than the CL80's and K100 I had. I actually traded two WGS CL80's for the Super V. I don't have a good explanation for tone differences though. I am going to A/B an E80 and a V12 with it either tonight or this weekend so I will reply back with my findings.

Hi Rich....Yes, I use it either by itself in a 1/12 cab, and the other one I have paired up with a WGS 65....it's a good mix.....if I had to use just one type spkr, it would be the Super V....warm, tight lows, singing highs, punchy but not obnoxious mids....really pretty amazing.....Seems to sound great with all my amps....not amp sensitive....

I might have to try some! I am not worried about the wattage, that has more to do with thermal limits. And the speaker wattage or power handling has little to do with the break-in period.

Great Speakers!

I replaced my v30 in a 212 Randall with the Lynch Super V's..Huge sound! and cuts better than my band mate Mesa 412.

Which Randall 212? I have the USA NTX that came with the Neos. I now have Celestions in it. I also tried the WGS which are killer. Is yours the slightly slanted front baffle Randall 212?
