mac or windows?

just curious. im thinking of pleading to my dad to get me a laptop for bday :D and a mac looks flashier. any thoughts?
 
mac laptops are great, I got one after being a windows user my whole life and am extremely satisfied. I wont go back to winblows.
 
Real surprising how Apple has become so popular lately. :) My vote should be obvious as I've been using Apple computers for the past 16 years. :thumbsup:
 
yep, did you know that 1 in 4 people last christmas asked for an apple product. Thats a pretty big mindfuck if you ask me! Should of invested about 5 years ago :aww:
 
FWIW, after spending all day on MAcs in the office I just upgraded my 2 year old Windows lap top to another Windows lap top.
 
Depends on what you are going to use the computer for.

Mac are king when it comes to music, art, and video. Great user interface, easy to understand and use without having to know ridiculous codes and secret tricks, and a very stable platform make the Mac a winner.

But for gaming and business software, you are pretty much forced to go with Windows.

I've always preferred Macs and have used them for over 20 years, off and on. If I'm working in art, video, and music studios the Macs are SO SUPERIOR it isn't even funny. But when working in the business world, you simply can't get the software for Macs necessary to get the job done.

Plus, try going to a software store and see what percentage of software is available for Macs vs. PCs. Better yet, try getting a new GAME that will run on a Mac. :doh:

Bootcamp and/or VMWare Fusion
 
will windows live messenger work with it and can microsoft office be installed on macs, or have they got similar stuff of their own? if not, no biggie.

I'm using MSN messenger and Microsoft Office on my iMac :yes:
