Marshall Did Something RIGHT With the 8100 Valvestate

None more reliable than a SS amp from back in the day..
My first amp was a PV Bandit little 8" Speaker when I was like 11..
Latter in my 20's I answered an ad for a band and it was this chick that had no business being in a band..
I ended upper sexing her over a couple weeks but we didn't do anything musically.
I felt shitty about the whole thing, and left my amp with her and never seen it again.
I want that amp back! LOL

Only Marshalls I can deal with for the brutal stuff

People say the most effective single-sentence horror story is "For sale: Baby shoes - never worn."

But I think a pretty good contender is "Nah I don't need that used 8100 Valvestate half stack just sitting over there in the shop right now for $200."

To be fair mine was the 8200, though I always assumed they were essentially the same thing
They sounded identical except for the whole addition of Chorus on the 8200. i owned both at the same time from 1999-2003 & played them all the time. The 8200 i got for a steal & bought it cause Messhugaah used one for a while.

One of my favorites.

If i remember correctly from back then.....he didn't use the 8100 until Human. Spiritual was an 800. I saw them a SHIT ton back then for that album & he was using an 800 with either a DS-1 Or SD-1 Depending on the show.

Looks like the 8100 was made after the album even.

Individual Thought Patterns was the beginning of his and Morrisounds Valvestate usage

A boosted comparison of a randall vs valvestate seems in order.

I want a RG100.

I do have a VH140C.
How do you feel about the VH140C? Another solid state one i've always wanted to try was the Crate XLP Preamp, which is supposed to be the Gx130C in a preamp form. I'd like to pair it with a Tube power amp to see what it sounds like.
