Nick Bowcott hit the "Brown Note"?

Boy did he! It was horrid enough that while I got my drink out the door in the mad rush, my head didn't fare so well and got stuck between the door and the jam. No pun intended.

How does the High gain area sound? Good for metal? Tight? Loose?

Thought I should post back after last night's teaser. I've been playing the new amp ever since I got home from work. Man, whoever designed this amp did their homework. Just the "clean" channel alone is almost worth the price of addmission. It's that cool. The tone controls have a huge impact on feel and volume. I love all 3 modes.

One thing that surprises me, is the drastic difference in gain structure between the 3 modes of each channel. A lot of people have been saying that every channel and mode sounds pretty much alike. Not True! Each one is noticably different. BTW, for you guys with one on the way, be sure to turn the volume way down before you start pushing those mode buttons :o The gain difference between green and orange/red will split you ears if your standing too close to the amp.

Playing the amp for only 3 hours doesn't qualify me as an expert, but here are few observations: First this is the most articulate Marshall I've played. even a crazy gain levels, It will show every mistake you make. I've got some practicing to do  Next, there is no "popping" or delays when switching channels. None. The stock preamp tubes are fairly microphonic. They will be replaced very soon. For reference, I also own a DSL100 and an early 80's JCM 50w combo.

I've got the entire weekend off (for a change), So lots of experimenting to do. Take care.

I can't wait for this thing... ](*,)

I still think he's faking.

No clips, rare posts. Geez, if I was the first one to have something like this, I'd be posting a LOT of clips, taking lots of pictures, and so on.

I smell hoax, still.

Ummm.......From and email I just received.

Steve,
I have researched the information that you sent to me about the JVM amp in the picture attached. According to our records, that specific amp was sent to our facility in California for distribution to Guitar Center 7425 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, California 90046.
That location has 20 pieces on order, and 2 have been spoken for by their sales manager.
I have no way of knowing if this person has taken the amplifier home or put it on display. But our records indicate that none have been sold at that location.
I will speak to you as soon as I have the other information for you.
Sincerely,

Doesn't matter to me anymore as I'm getting one anyways. I'll give it an honest try. If it's for me, fantastic. If not, back to the Mk IV.

You guys have gone from mildly entertaining to just downright pathetic! Steve, as long as your playing "Amp Detective" , why don't you get back with 'ol buddy Jerry, and have him ivestigate the JVM sold on Feb. 1 in Evansville, IN. Sounds like something has gone awry in the system at Marshall

Until then.........

Wow, it sure turned cold in Hollywood!

LOL - OK - whatever thoughts I about being skeptical on who you are and what you're about - just went out the window...

You're cool in book - lol!

That was an awesome burn!

Well, obviously you have one. He just went off the shipping records at Marshall.
Now, either it was changed in logistics or it got stolen...LOL
But either way, you made it seem like I didn't want to get one for you. I simply explained to you that you were brand new at both forums. Had no references....
That was all...
Now post up some clips already and stop taking the amp outside in the cold.....

Steve

Pwnage in Indiana....who would have thought? Congrats on the new amp. I want to know how it sounds at high volume levels as most amps fall short in this area. Diezels and Soldanos are the only ones that sound much better and hold up well at high volumes that I have played. I am talking VERY loud and still articulate. Most amps 'fart out' at these volumes.
