Mesa/Boogie MarkIIC+ at the time of its release?

I bought a Mark IIB, IIC, III red stripe and Mark IVA all new when they came out. I still have the IV.

We were all scooping the midrange years before Metallica Master of Puppets.

I think it was 1981 I bought the IIB.

What's your thoughts on the IIC+ features of newer Boogies?
The Mark VII is the only one I've really been interested since getting my IIIs years ago. However, I DO like the simpler ( less is more ) features of the old Boogies.

The only new Boogie I've tried is my Mark V 25. It's a great little amp but I prefer the c+'s and 3's.

I remember when they released but was too young to afford one.Walked into a boogie dealer in pitts circa 88' and played a coli and fell in love with it..The salesman talked me out of it saying ill never need 150 watts.He failed to explain to me that its all about the " feel" too.

I will never take his advice again!
I have all the literature too..If you look closely at the bottom of pic you'll see the annual tube discount post cards mesa sent out every Christmas.

Ya,I was 19 or 20 and didn't know any better yet.He didn't talk me out of buying an amp persay,but he did indeed talk me out of buying the amp I went in the store to buy in the first place,which was a mesa coli.
I believe it was a red stripe coli iirc,as the red stripe iiis just hit market not too long before that.No matter tho,I got the last laugh years later,as I now own 2 colis and they're keepers for life.
