Yeah, that's a nice tone - very smooth but still sounds gainy enough.
That was with both gains on the 2nd channel dimmed.
I really prefer it with the settings in the pic above and hitting it with basically a clean boost, like the first pic's settings on the MXR EQ pedal.
Roll back the guitar's volume to between 5 - 7 for rhythm playing, then crank the volume up for solos.
I'll make a clip of that setting soon...soon as my pinky finger heals.

Nah... they're logical... hardly precise though... LOL! :D
BTW...how goes the jogging and weight training. Great to keep that up for life my friend.

humm, I listened to it a few times and I don't know... maybe it's a speaker preference thing but I find it to be a bit to middy for my taste.
The basic tone is great though.

I agree Phil...pushing this amp with all the gain it has built in is not the best way. ;)

I had a Mark III at the same time as the Lonestar.

I had to do the same radical EQing to get the tones I wanted. It was actually pretty close to the Mark III. The Mark III was slightly bigger sounding, a little less compressed, but the Lonestar kept up pretty well.

What I think is funny is that I've heard different takes on Unchained on a few diiferent forums with different amps etc. and they all pretty much sound the same with very minor nuance differences. It tells me to just get an amp that's fun to play and don't sweat the minutia. It'll all come out in your hands on the fretboard anyway. But who am I kidding. These forums wouldn't exist if we didn't sweat the minutia.
