Sup guys, I’m working on faceplates for the mark 2 and 3 series, for those who need a new one or would like to add a graphic eq to their existing amps. Also working on a EQ supply PCB.
The problem I’m running into is that to make these plates correctly is very expensive and I’m curious as to where you guys draw the line in terms of price, as I don’t want to release a half assed repro. Especially considering the value of said amps.
Let me know what you think.

I know Mesa indicated they had some Mark III faceplates left (which is what they use when you add a GEQ to a Mk II), but no Mk II. Personally I would pay a couple hundred dollars for one since the amp has a lot of value and my IIC++ has a III faceplate. Not that big of a deal but still.

@itsgoodnow I heard they ran out of the mark 3 faceplates a while back but haven’t confirmed it. Absolutely sucks for guys who want to add an EQ.

This is good to hear. Both quotes I got were about $200 for just the front plate before any finishing process which was a bit of a shocker. Ideally I’d like for people to get everything they need except labor for $300 or less. Or about the price of Mesas EQ pedal

Very cool but that is shocking on the front end. The amps will accrue value and people into their IIC+ love them to death and people who will buy them would not be adverse into sinking cash in. 2 other considerations 1) some people want only Mesa everything (people also get weird if anyone at mesa besides Mike B touches one even), 2) Mike B told me before they were running out of NOS GEQs as well. I have heard of some people wanting to build aftermarket clones of this part but am unsure, Just giving you my all around thoughts on this.

Good points, I really hope mesa (or others) steps up with supporting the older products especially after Mike B leaves. I’d hate to historic amps turned into expensive paperweights due to lack of parts. Appreciate the perspective, great things to consider.

Did you ever start selling 2c faceplates?

Not yet, I have most everything ready to go in terms of files but finding a manufacturer is a bit of a challenge. That and I need to buy a non GEQ model so I can get information together for guys converting their amps over from non GEQ to GEQ. Also probably need to get a long head just to cover all bases.

The guy who has faceplates is a tech in Belgium, 33workshop I believe. I don’t think his are “3D” like the originals but they get the job done.

Thanks keep me in mind if you start making them. I definitely will buy one.

Any update on the IIC faceplates? I would be interested!
