MESA MARK IIC+ REISSUE - FULL DEMO

Cheers man, I have a video coming this week directly comparing the OG and the reissue but I see now people want to hear a comparison with the JP2C and the Mark VII as well so I guess I’ll make another one at some point
Ah whatever it’s Xmas eve, here’s the unlisted video of the comparison.

Cool!

That's a great idea about your next video

There's been some division - some people like Tone Wars say there's no reason to get the reissue when the JP2C does all those tones anyways, and others saying the same thing about the mk7

Comparisons between the models would probably be helpful to a lot of people

Thank you man! But don’t expect me to be frequent. Gotta stay out there on the Tube making moneys…

All good bro, gotta do what you gotta do.

Also the comparison video was great. I think I can hear a tiny difference between the two amps when they switch but it's so small that if you took away the video part and just kept the audio I'd have no idea. Actually if you didn't say "hey check out these two different amps" I'd probably never even notice there were two.

Thanks again man.

Thanks for the kind words man, merry Xmas!

Both sound great Ola, thanks brother!!! The original seems to be slightly thicker in the low mids with just a touch of top end roll off. While the reissue has a sharper attack and is brighter in the upper mids, a touch tighter with a bit less "weight" in the lows and low mids. I really like the almost "boosted" quality of the reissue, it presents as more "modern" to my ears. They are however very similar, would be difficult to identify any differences in a mix.

Is that the demo guy? I think he got way too much undeserved heat. People are way too mean.

Yeah I think people were so hyped up about the amp that when those first videos came out and weren’t great, somebody had to be to blame and Dinesh was the face of it. After a while it just became funny so people kept piling on for the memes.

The reality is that with these big companies there’s always multiple people responsible for anything that happens, and there may have even been people responsible for putting Dinesh in a position to fail, but that stuff is unknown to the public so Dinesh got the blame.

At any rate, I think it’s safe to say that the proof is out there that the RI is about as close to the OG as it could possibly be in the real world, which is great.

the thing that made me upset was they put ben eller in a room and seemingly did not let him turn knobs for himself...that guy knows tone and is a monster player

for an amp that should theoretically sell itself, it was just a silly thing to do...and why put some unknown guy on the cover of the official demos? i dont know, just pissed me off as all things gibson seem to do these days

Yeah 100% agree

It just seems like a pattern of gibson making the worst possible decisions to make themselves money, every single time

damn i'm hearing tiny little bit more lower mid grunt through my cheapo amazon speakers?

anyone else?

obviously this can be eq'ed out but am i insane?
You might hear something for sure, but the reality is that you would probably hear the same difference or more when comparing two OG amplifiers against each other. My conclusion; it’s close enough. My two Engl Savages sound way more different than the reissue vs OG.

this is very helpful perspective, thanks very much for sharing this

It’s been 11 years since my last post :D

Yeah man.

Stick around a bit if you get time. This is the BEST high gain gear forum on the internet right now hands down. For example, Wizard Amplification has given away 2 amps so far right here as charitable donation drives for St. Jude's Children's.

Also, you should have seen how bat shit crazy we all were about this 2C+ RI debacle until your video came out

Merry Christmas dude!
