I could certainly understand John 5 taking a gig with Crue from a professional standpoint but IMO it's certainly a step back creatively speaking.
He's a next level player. And that's no way me slamming Mick. To me, he is the un-sung hero of the band.
Good way to pay the bills though.

Concur. John5 is way above this band in terms of skill talent and everything else. But it's a business - so whatever floats his boat - but that cat can get *any* gig... So, whatevs.
I loved SATD back when it came out.
Then I learned how to make and play music.
Suddenly SATD fell by the wayside.

Crue will always have a place in my music history. SATD was my intro to them. But as other have said they're more of a side show these days.

It’s my understanding it was $90M but most went to Sixx since he had most of the publishing credits. so the other 3 aren’t exactly starving but keeping up with the Jones’ gets tough at that level.

Yeah pretty much all the business articles say $150. I mean they all have a net worth in the multi millions. Not trying to argue I just don't think any of them are hurting for money. What Motley should have done is just never mentioned and going through the whole "not touring" again drama, lived off their back catalog and tour when they wanted.

Mick retires....AGAIN! Let's hope they don't drag him out of his coffin in 5 years for the 4th retirement tour.
But honestly, I love Mick. He is the real star of that band and the guy wrote some great catchy riffs. Incredible tone too. John 5 doesn't do much for me and it looks a bit dorky the way he wears his guitar jammed up his nose. I don't see the appeal of this.

I seen them on the 2016 "All Bad things must come to an End tour" It was a great show, they sounded great actually and I'm not a huge fan but that show was good and I enjoyed it!
That was it no more touring..........RETIREMENT.........I guess until the mortgages are due......

I wouldn't have gone to see them yesterday, but having John 5 in the band now, I'd go to see him. He is a total badass and the best successor I can imagine for Mick, who is also a total badass. Love me some Mick Mars. And John 5 seems to be a really cool guy and I'm happy to see him get a phat paycheck.
