Tommy is a very good drummer and a Nikki has written some of the best heavy rock in history. Those early Crue albums are classic. Those albums are why they’re still a band touring all the way to the bank. They’re both scumbags, sure, but they ain’t bums on the talent front.
 
Tommy is a very good drummer like Neil Peart or Alex Van Halen or is he a good drummer like Rickki Rocket?

Ok, get rid of everyone except Nikki, and it will be a good band but not sure he can keep up with John 5.

See I have no issue with bands continuing to tour and even in the case of Kiss or many other bands - with replacement members. Same with Motley.

To me there's nothing sacred about bands, so many people project their own feelings onto bands and what they should or shouldn't do but "to me" those artists earned the right to go out and do what many of us wanted to do when we became musicians, play live music and get paid doing something you love. Be that with the original band or a hodge podge of people. And if fans want to pay the money to see that and have a good time, more power to them.

Where I have issue is saying this is it, retirement tour, better catch us while you can or that's it to make bank. Many artists have pulled that from Elton to Ozzy. And in Motley's case the whole disingenuous drama of the "we'll never tour again" contract signing. Even if most everyone knew they were full of shit, still just don't.

If you wanna retire fine, walk the f away but don't come back and give us every reason in the book as to why. Just take an endless break or walk away and keep your mouth shut - and if you want to fire the machine up in the future, great.

Kinda hope Fender will do an updated John 5 sig associated with this. You have to have a Floyd Rose for Crue songs, right? A John 5 Fender with a Floyd Rose would be great.
 
id much rather be doing bachelor party appearances for $750 and free coke for two hours a few times a weekend and not get smoked by poison every night if im nikki or tommy :dunno:

Geesh dude. You kinda reek of sour grapes. Tommy is no Neil Peart. No one touches Peart. But to say he’s not a good drummer…whatever. Lol

John 5 is the perfect choice. I wonder if Mick would still do something in the studio with them?
 
I wish Mick a long and comfortable retirement, whatever he chooses to pursue. Such a guitar hero who has suffered mightily for his fans.
 
Lifelong Crue fan... These guys should have retired in 2015 when they signed their contract not to tour anymore. They're nothing more than money grabbing assholes to me anymore. Except for Mick, at least he had the integrity to hang it up before they become a complete joke... and i emphasize the word complete. Saints of Los Angeles was a great farewell album, but now they just look like tools.
 
Nobody in that band is on John`s level but then none of the bands he has played in are except maybe Roth
