So heres the full report:
Had an awesome time jamming out with Eric last night! Mr. Williams is a true class act and a great player to boot. There were a few beers and modules all over the place! We played Eric's new Suhr modern, which is awesome. Hes still working on getting it set-up and getting rid of those god-awful Elixir or whatever slippery strings that come on it, but the tone is there. Its is VERY lightweight and plays awesome. I also really liked the Pro Series Modern rubbery finish. I could see myself being really happy with one of those guitars.
We are all also in agreement now after playing the GNR mod for the SL2 that it is a must-have. Nick and I are both sending in our SL2s. Its amazing how a frame of reference changes everything. We both always loved our SL2s but this was no contest to our ears with all guitars we tried. GNR mod is more alive, less smooth, less polite, just more Marshally. And you know we havent been ones to jump all on the modded module train. But this is really THAT good.
OH and Nick MAY have finally seen the light of TS 5881s. My amp just destroyed his last night. His was an abrasive, staticy mess. Mine was a thunderous onslaught of rich, complex, premium tone.
Anyway, nice to finally meet you Eric and hopefully we can do this again sometime!
