Well, I think there is at least supposed to be some sort of back.....isn't there?? I see 4 empty screw holes on the back sides of the wood. I know it's pretty well open, but there is nothing across the back at all. I mean, that's not a big deal though really, I'd just keep it open too, but figure I should have it if it exists!

I really think the UPS guys dropped it. It was packed pretty well with bubble wrap all around. That does suck though. I'll see if he had it insured, but I've heard too many horror stories about trying to get UPS to pay up.

Haven't heard back from the seller yet. Yeah, the SL2 is the bomb so far....more this weekend.

There's a back plate on mine that I pulled off cause it just got in the way of swappin tubes, man that sucks about your mod but that thing is built like a brick shithouse, the SL2 rocks,ENJOY!

Does the footswitch normally come with the amp? How much would one be if I have to buy one from Bruce??

I don't think so,If I remember correctly they were around a hundred or so.

Dudes, this thing kills man! Popped a set of Winged C EL34's, biased it up and wow!! The bassman is flat out killer with my Les Paul, then jump to the SL2 and just awesome! Honeymoon is definitely on. Can't wait to gig it. We have like 4 in a row in Sep., so I should be able to get a good handle on it then. I'm really excited about this beast.

AWESOME man!The bassman is bitchin!

Hey Hilly,

If I don't hear from the seller, how do I go about getting a footswitch from Bruce??

Thanks

I got my MOD 50 the other day as well. I first tried to change channels with the channel switch on the amp but it pushed in and won’t come out. Maybe it was damaged in shipping? The box has a 3” hole in the top and the amp was obviously tossed around in the box as it was on an angle when opened.

I do have the pedalboard however. I thought it came with the amp. Have not had master past 9:30 yet.

It has the SED Winged C EL34's. I also notice Bruce’s modules all have the EH preamp tubes. Anyone swap these? My amp tech claims EH or Tung Sol are best. If our band plays heavy rock, should I keep the Winged C EL34's or maybe try the 5881s or 6V6s?
Maybe I should check the bias on this thing anyway…never did that but I hear it is easy on this amp. I have a $20 multimeter.

Finally, I have one week to decide on keeping the Bassman or Deluxe for my clean. The MHG is my other module. I want the best clean and can’t hear a huge difference between the DLX and BSMN for channel A.

SL2 is on my list this year.

Thanks!!!!!!

I'd just keep the Bassman man. Although I haven't heard the Deluxe. I'd like to try the T/D sometime. The SL2 just plain rocks!!

This is just such a cool, well designed, awesome toned amp. Can't wait to gig it several times in Sep. Although I know I'm going to have to pick up some more modules.......that's the fun of it.

Still haven't heard back from the seller on the cord, footswitch and back panel. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. I asked him just to tell me if he has the stuff or not so I can get what I need from Bruce. I'm not sure I'll fight UPS on the damage either. It still works and maybe I can tweak the chassis back into place a bit. Don't want to damage it further though.

Played it through my 412 with greenies and it rocks!!

I think i like the DLX clean better, sounds bigger and more sparkly/dimensional? Anyway, I love channel B of the Bassman however and would use that module if I was in a cover band. Right now, I may stick with the Deluxe.

OK, haven't heard from the seller now in 3 days. I've sent him 2 e-mails and nothing. Not a huge deal, but to not send a cord, footswitch or back panel is just bad form. Even if he forgot, just go ahead and ship them. Plus he didn't respond about the damage or insurance or anything, so I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't damaged when he sold it to me. I'm still holding out hope that he'll answer one of the e-mails, but am quickly losing confidence. He's posted all over these boards, so I just assumed it would be fine.

I really didn't want to out him yet, but he's been on selling his other modules on the GP as of this morning, so I know he has gotten both of my e-mails. I left a note in his for sale thread asking again about the cord, footswitch and back panel. So I hope he at least answers me.

Bruce or Jeff, looks like I'll be needing a footswitch and cable.

Do you have to crank the clean side of the Bassman up a bit more compared to the channel B? I've got the gain about 2:00 and the master about 3:00 to keep up with channel B with both at about 12:00. Seems reasonable due to the extra gain on B, but just thought I'd ask. Damn, I love this amp. The SL2 just plain rocks and the B side of the bassman is just plain fun. So far I think I like the Winged C 34's better than the JJ KT77's. I want to try the 5881's and 6v6's though as well. Gotta get some from Doug.

He took his post down in selling his modules when I asked him about it. I don't get it. He's just ignoring me. Either he has the stuff or he doesn't. Common dude, just come clean and let's move on.

That sounds about right on the Bassman,This is one of the most fun and nicest sounding amps that I have played,I just got the SL2 and it does smoke!!!

I decided to keep the Bassman and not the Deluxe. The DLX was great but it didn't seem as crystal clean as the Bassman plus the Bassman channel B is awesome for old AC/DC, Led Zep type tones. You can't do that on the Deluxe to my ears.

I do have to keep the Bassman Channel A with the gain at about noon and the channel master at 3:00 to keep up with other channels though.

I love the Winged C 34s and wonder if I should try to bias these as well?

5881s and 6V6s are on my list as well.

This amp is just so darn fun with all the possibilities. Power tube changes in a snap, plug in different modules.....and they sound so darn good. Loving it so far. Heavy dose of giggin in September so we'll see the true test!! What a cool design.

Dont know what the deal is with Electa..seemed like a above the board guy when I talked eggy stuff with him on the phone..Sorry to hear about the communiction problems I can get you the footcontroller and back bar.

Thanks man, much appreciated. I don't know either. He's posted for years and seemed like a stand up dude when we were chatting about the Mod. Like I said, I just don't get it.
Just let me know what I need to do.

Thanks again,
Kevin

Sorry about your issue man. I hope it all works. I also took my chances when buying mine but communication has been good and it worked out. I am glad you love the amp though.

I thought you have to re-bias the power tubes....how are you just popping them in? I thought I needed at least a multimeter. I have a cheap $20 multimeter I use for pickup readings.
