Hey guys,

I have used the Torque. Wade wound one about 14K for one of my LPs and loved it. A bit more edgy thatn expected but the tone knob takes care of that. Previously I had the Rio Grande BBQ - still one of my favs!

What does he have for the Egnater line? What's the Blster Bucker and the Bliss Bucker?

I tend to like pickups in this guitar that are medium to hot. The BBQ is 12.5k and my Torque was 14K. The Torque is now in another guitar.

So what is a great LP bridge pickup. I use the stock necks pickups mostly. Something that is very thick, yet has good note clarity, I like notes to sizzle a bit meaning they are really hot for solo runs, LOL!

I have the Blisster Bucker in my LP and I love it. It's just a tad less hot than the Torque or Afwayu. The Bliss Bucker is a PAF type pickup. It all depends on what you want I guess. I have the Detroiter in my Strat, but that wasn't hot enough for what I was looking for in my LP.

I know Eric has sampled some of Wade's stuff and might be able to give you some advice as well.

2nd Degree Black Belt, nough said :D rich, this one is killer!!!!I loaded it up in the Suhr and while it is not super hot it has fucking tone for dayzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!hot paf to the max!!!!Alright,I'll shut the f$@% up

My favorite of all the ones I played were the Afwayus. Love them!

Eric

2nd Degree Black Belt? Is that like the regular BlackBelt?

So the Blister bucker sounds like my Torque I have in another guitar, cooler at 14k.

Eric, how did you find the pickups all compared? Especiall Afwayu to Blister Bucker to Torque, etc? Is the Afwayu versatile with our amps? Think Led Zep and Rush to metal.
If not, I might go back to the Rio BBQ.

So first...let me ask what guitar you want to put this in. All of wade's pickups are really versatile...as are all of Bareknuckle's pickups.

They will all make your Rio sound like poo ;)

Eric

What don't you like about the Rio. It is thick, rich and punchy. Sounds great.

I am up for replacing the pickups in my burst Les Paul. It is a 10lb newer model - 2004. So far I think the best in this guitar were the Rio BBQ, Guitar Force Erupter, WCR Goodwood, and Guitar Force Rebel-Fire.

Also, maybe my 1989 SG which has the stock Bill Lawrence built for Gibson pickups and they as well sound good but I like to tinker!

Sometyimes I think of replacing my PRS Dragon in my CE-22 but that thing smokes.

Rich,if your happy with what's in there, why on earth replace it bro????????

Rich, just a crazy idea......you seem to like to stay in your comfort level of pickups......all pretty similar in output. Why not try a bit lower output pickup and work at the amp and guitar controls to get what you want.......or you may discover some new ground you may enjoy?! I tend to get in the "same type thing" rut too, but I really dig trying new directions too.

Jason and I really dig the 2nd degree black belt and no it's not the regular black belt. It's a bit hotter/tighter than the regular deal. But it does handle high gain really well. It's a bit more open sounding than the higher output pickups, but man the clarity is just great and you can really get that "bite" thing going on. I'm really loving it in my VOS Les Paul from vintage to rock.

Hey man, that is a good point, but I have tried some lower output pickups like Burstbuckers and PRS McCarty pickups, a Wolftone Marshallhead...but I tenf to come back to hotter pickups. However, Wade,s friend Kevin over at Guitar Force pickups mase me a 9.7k Rebel-Fire that sounds nice! I like hotter PAFs I guess. The Bill Lawrence pickups in my SG are 8.0K, not that the numbers mean everything.

2nd Degree Black Belt   but I don't have it in an LP,I have it in a Suhr S2 pro series SSH,I have the bliss bucker in a VOS LP and while I love it and it gives you THAT VIBE I was looking for,it's not as versatile as the 2nd Degree.Just saying and like I said I'm biased now :D

The second degree blackbelt is a slightly overwound blackbelt. 9.6K with A5 magnets.

Seriously, it rips for what is considered to be a medium output pickup. I love it in my Les Paul.

Sounds good. Can anyone compare it to a WCR Godwood? (I'm using that right now and it's great...could be just a little more aggressive/less round in the midrange).

Did you hear the pup shootout that James did on the main page?Only thing I can think of as far as comparison.

Dan, what's the output on the Bliss Bucker? A tad less hot than the Torque sounds good. Is it versatile classic rock to modern using the right amp? :D ;)

Seems EVERYONE loves the WCR Godwood but I have toruble spending $200 a pickup.

Jason, I don't remember hearing the 2nd Degree Black Belt on the P'up shootout I guess unless you buy the CD. I have a 9.7 wound from Guitar Force. Nice.....but not exactly it!

I am having an issue with the Rio BBQ. It is great for thick leads but I find it lacks for clean and cutting rhythm.

Not everyone :D

I want to try a Bareknuckle Rebel Yell! Seems like it might be a very versatile LP set!
