For most Duncans, I would agree, but there's nothing wrong with a set of SD '59s in the right guitar....

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! finally!!!!

The Seymour Duncan 59 neck pickup, to me, is incredible. Perfect to my ears. That being said, I've had a hard time finding a great production Duncan bridge pickup to match.

Most of my Duncan bridge buckers are custom-spec from the custom shop. They're basically overwound 59s, up to 9.0 to 9.5K. Alnico V, vintage 42AWG wire. And they kick ass.

I'd put up ANY pickup from the SD Custom Shop up against any other boutique pickup winder's stuff. MJ over there knows her stuff.

Comparing the SD Custom Shop and the regular Seymour Duncan line isn't really a fair comparison. The Custom Shop stuff IS hand made, boutique stuff, thru and thru.

Yeah yeah yeah...blah blah blah...wank wank wank...you just keep telling yourself that Nick. If Duncan was one of the best winders, they wouldn't settle on their off the shelf crap! ;) :jerkit: :jerkit: :loco:

You just won't see the light...same as with MIDI ;)

j/k btw...well sorta!!!

Eric,

It takes him some time to come around...he just last night switched in the TS 5881s. Look at how long that took!!!! Some people have to be beaten over the head with better tone repeatedly until they get it. ;)
