  yeah, they're still around at the local shows.only problem is too many of em dont fit those old spandex pants so well.it's like they decided to drink those 20 gallons of "Aqua Net" instead of spraying it in their hair... :scared:

Hey that's the beauty of spandex, you could pull that up over a beach ball if you had to. In many cases the skanky girls have to do just that!! :D

Probably one of their best tunes

yep,it's always been my favorite.i remember coming home with the "Out Of The Cellar" album, back in '84,and after playing it on my record player ALL the way through, even with all the other killer tunes on their, the song "The Morning After" did more for me than the rest...i think it's the opening "galloping" chords that set the mood just right ;) ................

btw,the second tune "You're In Trouble" is my second favorite on the album   good chit,mang...........................

yeah...in Chicago,we had a college station called WZRD(the Wizard...ooh,sounds scary :scared:   ) that played the song "You Think You're Tough" from the 1st EP vinyl.then, almost immediately after that, they were playing the EP version of "Back For More",which sounded a bit different than the re-recorded version that ended up on the "Out Of The Cellar" album.that 1984 year was soooo awesome.for me,it was the 1-2 punch of having Ratt-Out of the Cellar & Quiet Riot-Metal Health become released along with multiple other 1-2 punches that same year...Ozzy-Bark at the Moon & Judas Priest-Defenders of the Faith...Twisted Sister-Stay Hungry & Accept-Balls to the Walls...Scorpions-Love at first Sting & Motley Crue-Shout at the Devil.........man,no wonder i'm such a metalhed       here's a salute to a great year- 1984

All great stuff! I never heard the Ratt tunes and will be downloading...I mean buying them later today. Excited to hear something new for back in the day. Thanks!

i've got all the Scorps albums, from "Lonesome Crow" up thru "Savage Amusement",in '88.i was actually just thinking about the stuff that was released in 1984,so i sorta re-lived the year,in that last post of mine, all within a few minutes ;) ."Virgin Killers" was the 1st Scorps album that i got into, even though my best friend's older brother was raving about the "Lonesome Crow" album.it was "Lovedrive",in '79,that really floored me.keep,in mind that i was only in 6th grade then,so just starting to experience all the great bands & music that were out there, due to the influences of my friend's older brothers & sisters.either way,the list goes on & on & on...so many cool albums from that era and it's real neat how when you listen to an old album,or song, from those days, how it puts you in some time warp back.i'll instantly remember when i may have bought a particular album(i.e. Black Sabbath- Mob Rules),the excitemment of going to the record store, who i may have been with at the time, where i listened to it that night, rushing to call other friends to tell them about how awesome this new album that i just bought was,etc..WOW! i'm already in some wild trip   ahhh, the memories.i'm tellin ya,guys...if i could build a time machine and go back to,say,1977,i'd do it NOW  f**kin re-live going to the local record shop & buying "Van Halen 1" all over again...priceless!

btw, gotta luv them "come fuck me" thigh-high boots" :D

 Guys I was trying to keep them things off my mind.  Now you done went and reminded me about the required things that made you put the guitar down for. Man, the one stringed flute, what a killer tune it played before it exploded. And the better the girl was at playing it, the longer her solo. :hys: \:D/

yes, some of those "one-stringed flute" songs are "timeless" classics...like," ya dun spooged on my thigh" or "smoke that thing, little mamma" or "i promise, baby,i'll pull out in time"...

i think i got these all on one 8-track tape  :D

I wouldnt do the '77....I would go back to 84. Thats when Anthrax and Metallica started to break away from the Hair Metal and then we had TWO Metal catagories.........*SIGH*....those were the days!!
RIFF HEAVEN BABY!!!!

yeah,Danno...but if ya went back to '77,you could just hang for the next 10 years and go through everything in 80's again.i wasnt talking just takin a short trip back in time to 1977,then coming back to the present.i'm talking goin back & stayin   .if i went to '77,i could catch the first 4 Van Halen tours, catch the infamous U.F.O. "Chicago Amphitheater" show,re-live the first two Ozzy tours-Blizzard of Oz & Diary of a Madman, catch Metallica as a "bar" band again, see the Black Sabbath-Born Again tour w/Ian Gillan, smoke mass amounts of tied-stick at the '85 Venom/Slayer/Exodus show, and freak out seeing Yngwie on the '85 Marching Out tour, and on,and on,and on.then,by 1990,i'll build another time machine and go back and do it all over again

Now that makes more sense! haha
Yes....it did about DIE in 1990 didnt it??
Glad to see its SORTA coming back again with the Guitar Hero game. Kids are FINALLY hearing some real tunes!

Man....when I get behind my rig and start ripping out LAY IT DOWN and the Drummer kicks in.......
Goosebumps!! Makes me feel 16 years old again! (even though I am 38)
But.....the best GUITAR music came from the 70's/80's......hands down! Riffs are Riffs!
They should carry the song and not let the guitar be just "back ground noise" like the crap thats on the radio today!

I'm the same way with 70's Arena Rock/Metal...
Judas Priest,UFO,Rush,Richie Blackmore's Rainbow,Quicksilver,Heart,Amboy Dukes,Bowie,Joe Walsh/James Gang,Free,REO SW,Blackfoot,Frank Marino,New York Dolls,MSG,AC/DC,Lynard Skynard,Uriah Heep,GF Railroad,Yes,early Iron Maiden,Led Zeppelin,Sex Pistols,Sabbath,Van Halen's 1st,Def Leppard (up to "High & Dry")... Those were thee fucking days!!!
Too me,music started going downhill in the 80's... Just my opine. The George Lynch's and Warren DiMartini's of the 80's were more of a novelty IMO. They had technique;but no real sense of melody. Non-inspiring,and boring to listen to unless drunk! The only CD's that I listen to from that era are AngelWitch,Metallica,Tigers Of Pan Tang,TT Quick,Gary Moore,Ozzy w/Randy,and Accept.
I like a lot of the early 90's music... The Seattle scene really brought about a return of 70's style Rock IMO. When Nirvana,Sound Garden, and AIC came onto the scene,it was like a musical hurricane came through blew-away the trash! No more Warrant,Motley Crue,Dokken,Ratt,White Lion,Winger... The list goes on like a bad case of the shits! I hope these bands like - totally restrict their touring to "the valley" - for sure!
"The Pixies" song formula has been done to DEATH! It's still being used now.
Sound Garden reminded me so much of Zeppelin/Sabbath in their sound, and song arrangements... They were like a "drop-tuned" Led Zeppelin... Very cool! It didn't take long for the NY/LA based record companies to exploit them too. In the end, even these guys went commercial. I hear so many people say: "What the fuck happened to music"? Three things: MTV,digital sampling, and Gibson's $3,500.00 price tag for a guitar...

Couldnt possibly disagree more about the 80's stuff. Too each their own though. I mean no disrespect with my reply, but Im more than a little passionate about alot of the 80's stuff .Not the Warrants, Trixters, and way late comers, but the forerunners of and the bands that never got their due...TNT being the primary one.

I'll take Winger or Ratt over the New York Dolls or Sex Pistols any day...and Seattle was a return of dork rock sans AIC...the guys who couldnt get gigs in the 80's cause they played poorly and looked like truck drivers were oh so happy to finally be accepted for their mediocrity. Kurt Cobain sucked in every way....great songwriter...no...listen to Jellyfish or Kings X for great songwriting and NO/FEW public accolades..Adequate player....Not even close....his success and that of Nirvana was based on some record execs hope for the demise of metal so he could finally fit in and be considered cool and maybe kiss a real live woman.

:hys: Cornfordcrunch is just passionate about them thought out views. Man, I can't say I am not the same way about my own chosen things. :codeak: Hey, take aim and fire away, when it comes to what you believe. :salute: Good for you dude, you rock.

 Hey TONMAZZ, what speakers do you run in your cabs? I see you have two EVH 20 watt greenbacks for sale? What's up with that? :)

TNT..Knights of the New Thunder! yeah, baby! always LOVED the song "Seven Seas"...killer tune, definately an underappreciated band.the guitar "solo" on that song is awesome...........LONG LIVE RONNIE LE TEKRO!!!
