NAD: Bogner Snorkler 50

That's the impression I got from what I've heard on this one. Very interested to play one as it has something unique and grainy/nasty about it from the clips i heard.
Absolutely! It’s grainy and aggressive in a unique way

Well there’s also Lenz and the Hell Razor lol and for non-high gain amps Ronin, Alessandro and Gjika are amazing. Some Ronin’s are high gain though
I know, just jokingly noticing the tendency chamge 😂

You’re the only person that I heard anout Ronin from I think 🤔

I am very happy to finally see some new amps that are good. Ronin’s would be more up the tgp guy’s alley being more classic rock/bluesy amps, but they’re amazing. The P88 model is a high gainer guys here would like, but that model isn’t known by many (only 3 have been made so far I believe)

I bet one of those three you definitely own, right? 🤔

Can’t wait to see what you guys think about new 2c+ reissue.

I think what’s cool about the Snorkler is that it is both classic and modern at the same time. You can do 80s and 90s stuff with it or more modern rock and metal. I think I said in my video that it also rides the line between rock and metal, which I love.

Great review. Killer amp. Bogner knocked it out of the park with this one.
To you and @braintheory : How are the Transformers built? Do they have the same thin sheet metal caps, that bent like crazy, like in the Helios?
Gut shots were Highly Appreciated. How's it built? ;)

I understand him :D
I don't. I mean I'm a one trick pony, all the gain and saturation you can imagine type of guy but that UU is hands down the absolute best amp I've ever played for that. Makes the Fortin Cali look like a cracker jack toy. I just can't understand how others cannot agree but to each their own.

Edit: the cleans on that amp are also absolutely stellar but admittedly I wouldn't know how to dial in a mid gain rock tone if my life depended on it.

It might have something to do with yours being a 6L6 Version...

I agree on Fortin, but that’s not a very high bar lol. I agree the cleans were among the best I’ve heard in a high gain. If it weren’t for that super filtered/clinical/cardboard-y quality it had across the board on every mode and setting I probably would’ve loved it. In some ways that may be subtle, but once I heard it I couldn’t unhear it and the feel was too disconnected (opposite of say a iic+ or Rev 1 Uber). It took away my enjoyment from what I think otherwise could’ve been a great amp. Would it kill the amp to have at least an ounce of richness or warmth to it? Even the Hermansson’s have a little bit of that, while also being tighter and sharper, but I digress

The UU also had almost great mid gain rock tones in there, but for that in particular (as well as for bluesy stuff) is where it’s imo especially not acceptable to have such a filtered/synthetic sound to be appropriate at least for what I’d want in those styles. In modern metal it’s become normal, but still never liked it

I don’t see how just 6L6’s from the EL34 version I had could magically fix the cardboard-y filtered quality it had and disconnected feel. If anything I feel like I’d like 6L6’s less in it, but who knows
I don't know. The Clips of him with his 6L6 UU have another quality to them. They have different Transformers as well. But it's just a wild guess based on Phone-Clips from the Interweb.

Yeah I’m sure there are differences and maybe I’d prefer some things about it, but I doubt it would fix the qualities I didn’t care for in the EL34 version I had

Are these built to order or backordered? Haven't looked at sweetwater or anything.

I haven't seen an actual listing for one yet, they've all been presold based on what the dealers have on order. I was on the list at Sweetwater and expecting one sometime in December but saw Matt's Music post they got one that wasn't spoken for and jumped on it. Should be here tomorrow.
