I found this to be my favorite Diezel too. I think some just see the digital interface and view it as less authentic, but the sound and punch are solid, and you can't beat the flexibility. My VH4s and Herberts just seemed too one dimensional after this.
You may already have a midi, but if not, it pairs well with the Diezel Columbus. Really expands your options and functionality. Moves it close to Fractal territory. They're a little expensive new but pop up used from time to time around $300. Not cheap, but it adds so much.
