ugh, i remember the last time i had a blue stripe III and my current IVa at the same time.
you're gunna go back and forth on which one you like better so many times. if you are forced to keep just one, thats gunna be a tough choice. have fun with that one.
I hope I never come across that situation because I couldn’t pick at this moment with gun to head. I guess the MKIV slightly edges it out due to versatility.

Cool that you could get all those! With Mark V at the bottom, where does the JP2C rank so far vs. III & IV?
It was my number one until the MKIV arrived and then the III came after and really put a wrench in things lol. It would be 3rd but that doesn’t mean it’s not great. It sounds like a modern and polished thrash amp. I can’t compare to a real IIC+ since I’ve never played one but owners of both say the tone is there but the IIC+ has more grunt and spatial sound. That’s how it’s playing out with the III currently.

@PurityS.L.G I've heard the JP2C isn't as open/raw sounding as the vintage marks. A lot of people say they're compressed sounding.

Based off your experience with it, is there any truth to that?

I've been wanting to snag one for a minute now, but feel it might be redundant to what I already have.

@MetalThrasher check the back panel of your amp on the right side. You should see a series of numbers imprinted on the backplate.

BTW they put the Presence knob on the front panel of long heads w/o Reverb.
Makes sense because mine is a shorter head and I don't have reverb.

@MetalThrasher I prefer the ones without Reverb. You can put a R2 Volume Pot in its place to balance the volume levels between all the channels. It makes the amp much more useable.

Yeah that is accurate. It’s very compressed and modern sounding. It has a huge low end but it’s soft. The MKIII is snappier and punches much harder. Both have that aggressive high end bite, more so with the JP I’d say especially with shred mode activated

I've borrowed my buddy's JP a few times, and IIRC I like it with the Shred mode engaged on CH2 and the presence almost off. I believe it was pulled and around 8:30.

id say you gotta have one real marshall in that pile, id sell one of the marks and get a DSL or slx with a 1960 and youd literally have everything covered.
DSL and SLX..real Marshalls…..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
