there's probably only a handful of people that have tried both heads...but for the guys that have, which one do you like better?
i've been thinking of pulling the trigger on one of them...but man that's a tough one. they both sound pretty awesome

I haven't played either of them so I can't be of help, but you could help others to better help you by discussing what you want/need out of an amp...tones, functions, switching, etc.

i actually DON'T want or need them...but amp addiction will force me to buy one sometime soon. trying to stay strong but the natas might break me down

Hagan.

More tones, more flexibility.

I considered the Fortin, but ended up going with the Hagan.

Herbert!

The NATAS clips have had this nasty chirp to them - like in the one posted in this thread. No one else has mentioned it but it drives me nuts. I'd go Herbert with 6550s + Hagen with EL-34s!

You get 8 unique and distinct voicings with Herbert - 8! From what clips I've heard from the Natas it sounds very nice but ask yourself this, how many voicings do you get with the Natas - you ready for a showdown? :gethim:

The NATAS has some serious knock and kerrang to it. I think it excels at being a unique sounding amp, and one that's not easily mistaken. I use the kerrang term carefully, I'm not trying to compare it to a Marshall amp, I'm using the term as a true descriptor of its tone. The dry punchy raspiness has its place, and the percussiveness has knock and punch.

I've yet to receive my Hagen. What am I expecting? Not sure. I've chatted with Reza and he said it's an interesting amp for sure, unlike anything else he's tried. Said there are some unique attributes to it with regards to Fletcher Munson style changes in the volume and EQ. As for what I've surmised thus far, it's a totally different sounding amp, and that's something I gravitate to. I'm not so much a Marshall wannabe kinda guy. I like evolution in my tone and Diezel delivers that in spades.

Just wanting to buy an amp to extinguish your GAS pains is a strange place to be - I mean, ya kinda gotsta know what it is you're looking for before you go with something

That's a cool $8K right there isn't it?
It's easier to spend somone elses money hahahaha :D

With that said, Ive never played the Hagen but I love Pete and his amplifiers, so to answer the question in a serious manner, I don't think that you could go wrong with either.

and a word to squank, The NATAS is pretty freaking flexible. It is not a one trick Pony. I just figured that id say that since I don't want people thinking that the NATAS isn't flexible, because it is ;)
