I REALLY like what I heard with the Natas, but I just knew what I would be getting with the Diezel. It was easier to pick since I have owned a vh4 for 2 years now. I have played a Herbert and I think there are some awesome sounds in it, but I really think the Hagen is better described as a VH4 on steroids with a little bit of that Herbert gainy saturation. The VH4 was REALLY dry and tight, the Hagen can do that, but it has this MORE to it...more gain, a convincing difference in the gain structure, some REALLY chewy mids, some would say its looser, but its still really tight. It just breathes differently, has a little bit of that Herbert WHOMP factor but the low end stays really defined. I played ALOT of amps this last year...and I have heard ALOT of clips...as much as the Natas sounds like an ultimate metal monster, the Hagen is right there.... its like racing a ferrari and a lamborghini. To me the Hagen is the ferrari. If you know anything about those cars then the analogy is complete.
