Very cool! Boosted Jubilees can get great sounds. Heavy as you want…with that eq being super responsive unlike most Marshalls. Had a 1988 2554 that I sat next to my 412; probably had the most questions about my rig when I used it 14 years back.
Thanks for posting!

Some nice customer guitars..
I thought Jubilees already had Diode Clipping??
Wasn't watching that closely. Is he Boosting the Clean Channel??

Most underrated metal guitarist ever. Kirk Hammett should be doing Gary's laundry IMO...
Agreed. But, I think Rick was a few notches above Gary. Rick was a sick guitar player, and many don't know he was a Satriani student as well. Unlike Hammett, he actually took it serious.

Rick blew Gary away in the lead department, IMO. Alot more tasteful, alot more precise, and superior technique. Gary's lead playing has always been erratic, and somewhat spastic.

No hate, they've always been one of my favorite bands. Gary's definitely one of the BEST riff writers in the business.

They do, but he most likely doesn't use it, atleast I wouldn't think so. I personally think it sounds like shit on the lead channel. It's a unique amp.. You crank the Output Master, use the Lead Master for your volume, and hit it with a boost. Fat city.

I doubt he's boosting the clean. That would totally defeat the purpose of getting that Jubilee roar.

i took these a few years ago, he had just gotten the jubilees. he was using a couple different boost pedals but i forgot which ones.

The Rhythm clip is nice when you add it to the clean; but leaving it off on the lead is best. Fatter tone that way.

Saw the Bay Strikes Back show last Friday and Gary had the most ferocious sound of the night, so mid heavy and grinding. I was there for Testament mostly but Exodus where amazing. If Eric would of had Gary's rig..... Man. Testament where using modelers, and it showed...... They where awesome, but lacked the tone.

I think Testament has been using Kempers for several years now.

Eric was Using the Original 5150 III & Most Recently was using the Stealth Model. He does sometimes use a Kemper especially for Fly Dates.

Imagine that. non boutique amplifiers with standard pedals and even Mooer pedals?! how dare he simplify. He must not know TONEZ!
