I find nothing cuts like EL34s in a band.

I know it's just your opinion Rich, but about 75% of guitar players would disagree with this comment!

Pretty much all the guitarists I know in Philly, including the older fellas have all gone back to EL34s and EL84s for that reason. For some reason, 6L6 amps seems to get lost in a two guitar band. A well known local guitarist stopped using his SLO for that reason. This is my personal opinion and that of lots of other local guitarists.

However therr are some amazing amps that run other tubes than 34s and sound killer. So who knows.

I find it hard to believe and SLO could not cut through those amps cut through everything unless he had the Bass cranked and mids on 2

I wasn't even going to touch that one, but I'm glad you did!

Mine oughta be here by the weekend -fingers crossed-

Pretty stoked to say the least

Finally wailed on it tonight and you wont be able to wipe this shit eating grin off my face for weeks! Jammed on it with two other gearheads who were totally blown away too. There was an el34 original shiva, Egnater Mod 50, line 6 vetta, and fender deluxe reverb in the room and everyone was fighting over my 20th Shiva!

Congratz!!!! Still putting mine through its paces... But super glad you're digging the incoming Sheevs.

I'm pretty pumped myself. Hey what cab were you running yours through??

Peace

Last night it was running thru an oversized bogner 212 with a V30 and can't remember the other speaker. The cab I have at home is a cheaper Peavey 412 and it sounds great too. Haven't tried it with my Hughes and Kettner 412 with greenbacks yet. I am on the lookout for a matching Bogner cab I can get in Canada for the right price!
Congrats on your 20th Shiva! Love that white tolex

I found the eq took time to fiddle with but once dialed in it sounded great. Don't think the Shiva had the big bottom end grind that some other Bogner amps have but was a great hard rock amp. The onboard boost could get into metal but it lacked a little thump.
