I really only eat one meal a day. Been doing this 24 hour fasting for the last couple years. Stomach has shrunk and I don't have much appetite these days.
Been doing it for 37 years, Brutha Dan.

Fun facts:
If you feed a typical domestic animal 1/3 as much, it'll live twice as long.
We spend on average a marathon and a half's worth of energy on digestion every day.

These insights led me to eat only the one, raw-food meal a day all those years ago. Raw because a great deal of that digestive energy is expended converting metabolic enzymes into digestive enzymes. When you run out of metabolic enzymes, you're dead. Raw food already contains the enzymes necessary to digest itself, hence why you don't need to throw enzymes on a compost heap.

All this said, my living on rabbit food all these years has kept my taste buds in tip-top condition, and oh boy, if I eat any "normal" food, it's like goin' to a friggin' gourmet restaurant.

Chucks of potato and added some shrimp and used some bacon for smoke flavor.

Omg clam chowder is my dream soup!!
Oh man, I've never even tasted any chowder, but I've seen it on the cooking shows.

I'll bet exo's is great. Making me hungry...

Ya I love the one meal a day.
I have colitis. So if I eat. My stomach goes crazy. Being on the road all day.
Just wasn’t ideal.
So switching to the one meal was good for me. And I got used to it

Was eating Beef patties the last 3 days. The soup sounded good. Made hot wings last nite. They were tasty!!! :D

I've been doing 19:5 fasting for 2 years. Love it. Don't have to worry about breakfast or lunch.
Can't stand thinking about food all the time. Best thing I ever did. Off of 20 years of prilosec too. Endless energy.
I watch all the fools pass out in the afternoon and get grumpy from the Chinese food or Huge subs with shit bread they ate at lunch, while I'm doing cartwheels around them.

Well.... I won the soup cook-off at work yesterday with my (now famous) Chicken & Noodles, so there's that ;)

We did steak last nite. Got into just salt and pepper. Heating the pan full tilt. Then 3 minutes each side. We used to marinate and put tons of different spices. These steaks I cook this way searing them have to be the best ones I’ve ever cooked.

Old-school. Nice, Dan.

As you Yanks might say, it don't have ta be purdy, but it don't hurt any.

Just a little bit about me.

I'm working closer to 1 meal a day.
Problem is I love eggs/bacon/omlettes
But - if I do do that it is usually like 1pm in the afternoon
No breakfast necessarily unless I'm hung over and NEED greasy protein asap

Love Chili, steak, chicken noodle soup, gumbo, shish kabob, BBQ in general
Moving away from bread and pasta
Recently diagnosed with ciliac's disease

I use to post my BBQ shit all the time on UG and GGF

Looking forward to sharing stuff here. Let me know if get's to be too much

Nice

I made some a few weeks ago (shrimp & sausage gumbo) and it took nearly an hour of stirring to develop the roux. Tasty, but lots of work...

^ thanks

Yes. Roux. Thanks. Def not a set and forget type of thing

Well worth it. I frickin love shrimp in there too. I also prefer to do the rice separate vs jambalaya but that is good too.

So Chili is my one of my absolute favorites but no one makes it like I do. I like a lot of black beans, diced tomatoes, cumin, sometimes diced onion and peppers, a bit of tomato paste (4 oz), crushed red pepper, a tad of mustard, a tad of ranch dressing, etc.

I have a fall party every year so the below is bit more than I usually would make but you get the idea :D
